We ate at Roys for the first time with our family from Melbourne 4adults and 2 kids. Service was professional and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had a variety of dishes which come out quickly and was fabulous, converted my husband to the wonders of dumplings. Our 10 yr old grandson said it was the best lunch ever, which he passed onto the chef. When paying the bill I told the staff that it was a wonderful lunch to celebrate our daughter in laws birthday and they promptly remove her drinks from the bill. We will definitely be back, taking our out of town visitors to this wonderful restaurant and bar. Thank you for Roys for helping make our day with our family a special one.

Atmosphere was good, although there was a woman at the table next to us who had clearly been served too much alcohol speaking incredibly loudly. The staff were hanging out with her at her table and no one told her to quiet down. This really affected the atmosphere. This lady then had to be helped out of the restaurant as she was stumbling all over the place.Lamb ribs were incredibly tender, beef tacos were great (pickled onion would be better than pickled cabbage), fried chicken was average, quite dry and the portion was small considering it was a ‘large plate’. Everything needed more salt & acid.

Even if this place didn’t have delicious food (which it does) and a great environment I would still seriously rate it just on their staff alone. They were super friendly and accommodating. Went above and beyond. This on top of great food, make this place one of my favourites in Ballarat.

Every dining experience at Roy’s has been amazing, but last night was even better. Our waiter was fun, entertaining and very knowledgeable on both drink and food menu. We had varying dietary requirements in our group and they were able to do the chef’s choice with no issues. (Five good sized courses for only $59!)The vegan bao buns were one of the best I’ve had.Highly recommend Roy Hammond’s easily up there with the best of Ballarat.

The atmosphere was great. Friendly service. However the food was so small and extremely overpriced. Korean Fried Chicken tastes like Chinese style not tastes like Korean and it was categorized “large” but tiny portions. If it is a Korean restaurant, we will get twice larger than this with cheaper price. Dumplings were horrible and cut into half….small. I guess it’s because of Ballarat but all experience was disappointing.

My friends and I dined in over the weekend, the food and atmosphere was amazing, the mock-tails were delicious but sadly was let down by the behaviour of staff our waiter was fantastic no question nor doubt with that. What wasn’t okay with how who seemed to be in charge was treating their staff saw the staff visibly upset after they had been spoken to which then put a damper on the experience and in return our waiter seemed off and upset.Was and is a beautiful venue and place to eat atmosphere was beautiful.

What a little surprise this gem was! Had a recommendation as they have a number of gluten free dishes on the menu.The bulgogi tacos were some of the best tacos we have ever had. Very fresh and the soft corn tacos did not break apart. The lamb ribs fell straight off the bone ans had a nice little spice kick to them (if you don't like spice maybe see if they can do them without the sauce and chilli).Decent selection of beers, a cider and a ginger beer on tap. I opted for a cocktail special for the Begonia festival and it was dressed to impress!

Focus is on the Whiskey and Gin. A pretty good selection for a regional spirits bar. Nice vibe in this place and the friendly staff make up for the menu which is a little weak when it comes to wooing the taste buds. Overall, a cool spot to spend an hour or so sampling beverages.
