Gym Cartel Newstead & CrossFit Desire Central

Fantastic gym with great facilities and very hygienic. The trainers are the best I've come across and everyone is incredibly welcoming and supportive. Highly recommend to anyone who is serious about getting good results quickly.

My new favourite place to train. After my crossfit closed it was a big step to try somewhere new, but honestly the people at both Desire, Northgate and Cartel in Newstead are fabulous. The members are not clicky and very inclusive. The coaching staff are experienced and extremely knowledgable. As an older 'cross-fitter' I feel very supported and welcome. I love the technique tips and friendly manner in which they are delivered. I’m very grateful that I was encouraged to give the place a go. I’ll be staying.

As a shy person and overweight this gym is like no other, yes there’s a bunch of insanely fit people, but the people and staff here are so humble and welcoming and friendly. There’s a free class Friday once a month so come along and or bring a friend, there’s different scaling methods Of workouts or movements for beginners like me, To get the same workout as those really fit people.It’s a place where you don’t feel judged for coming last just as long as you try, See this it’s near the city there’s bus stops nearby and the Bowen hills train station is a brisk 20-25min walk from the gym.If you have come this far to have a look at changing your lifestyle and making life long friends then this gym or CrossFit box is the place to do it, with professional coaches and even one on one personal training sessions tailored to you and your schedule. Don’t make excuses, take the leap like I did and dare to be great. You won’t regret it trust me

I have only recently joined this gym and haven’t done CrossFit before but have to say really loving it so far. Coaches are great and the members are really friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend it if you’re thinking about starting up in CrossFit!

I was a member of this gym for a year before I had to move away ! You couldn’t get a better crossfit gym in Brisbane ! The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and even in a large class you still get that PT experience. I can’t express how good these coaches are.

Unreal gym and better people! I personally was hesitant to give CrossFit a try due to not being the fittest bloke, however I’m glad I finally did. The highlight of my day is now getting a early session in with the crew and hyperventilating for a hour. I now also own a fair bit of Reebok kit, it’s good vibes. 10/10
