Ivan, Jenny and the team have created a lovely place that brings the community together. Perfect environment for the kids and grownups to learn the real values of BJJ!

Ivan has created a second home for me since starting roughly 1.5 years ago. He's built a very friendly supportive community that provides a social outlet whilst still engaging in the technicalities of BJJ as an art. I initially took to this sport as a new found hobby, but Ivan and the people within it took my potential to achieving gold in the 2021 Australian Nationals in my division and is something I'll never forget. If there was any change, it'd be that I wish I started earlier.

Stumbled upon this gym by chance and had a chat with Ivan who runs the place about training. He was very welcoming and we ended up watching few classes before signing up.During classes, not only they teach you about Jiu Jitsu, but also on life lessons which are great for character building.Ivan and Youssef (assistant coach) has great dynamics between them as a coach and I could not be happier to have found this place!Keep up the good work!

Ivan and Rafael have made my BJJ journey fun, memorable and fruitful. They are excellent instructors and cater their teaching to the classes and students so that we can make the most use of our time on the mats. I felt comfortable attending their classes from the very first day. I would recommend this gym to anybody (kids, adults) passionate or curious about BJJ - beginners or even advanced students looking for a new gym. I can highly recommend the Melbourne Jiu-Jitsu Academy for children and juniors BJJ training.Ivan, Raphael and Yusuf are excellent coaches who clearly take pride in mentoring and instructing younger members.My 3 kids (9, 10 and 12) love the positive club environment and find the classes fun, interesting and challenging!

I got extremely lucky to have found such an amazing place to train as I moved over here from Ireland and wanted to keep my BJJ up. They have an extremely flexible schedule with a variety of times, there’s a very supportive atmosphere in every class regardless of your ability so even if you’re a complete beginner you’re in safe hands here. Ivan and Rafa are amazing coaches who are there to support you and encourage you while ensuring safety at all times. The best thing about MJJA is the community, it’s like nothing I’ve experienced before and it helps keep me going and looking forward to every class. I honestly couldn’t fault this gym if I could. 10/10

I've been attending the academy for around 6 weeks now and starting has been one of the best decisions I've made! Both Ivan & Rafael are excellent coaches who challenge you and support your learning. Classes are very well structured and all members are very welcoming to new studemts. I joined after my week free trial so if you are thinking of starting I can't recommend Melbourne Jiu Jitsiu Academy enough!
