Posting this so no one has a similar experience like we had.• 20/09/21 Tried to call, no answer, left a voice message. No call back.• 21/09/21 tried to call and reached. Said they will call back but no call back.• 22/09/21 went to the place as soon as the place opened. Got a quote, made a booking for 24/09/21 to get our car fixed (cv joint and clutch fixing). I was told it will be done within next day and they will call us once it’s done.• 25/09/21 no called, so we called. Told it got delayed, gear box wasn’t removed yet.• 28/09/21 no calls, we called in the morning to be told it had got delayed more, was told the gear box was just removed, was told it will be done next morning. Borrowed one of mechanic’s personal car from them. No contract, checking or signing off happened, casual handing over of keys.• 29/09/21 got a call, ready to collect. Paid and got an invoice (price doubled since the first quote and the cv joint did not appear on the invoice). Handed the car key back to them. They said they found some scratches on their car and told us, they will follow up and contact us to let us know how much.• No phone call received since.The experience involved the constant not answering of calls and constant delays, I got my car back and unsurprising it wasn’t fixed.• After 2 days, starting ticking sound from cv joint again.• After 2 weeks, Clutch slip started again. Slipping even in 4th gear now (new issue)• Break shuttering started (new issue)I had lost faith in this mechanic so I got a second opinion and found out that not only had I been grossly over charged the clutch wasn’t fixed which was the main thing the car went there for. On top of that some of the bolts were finger tight and not done up properly. So, the shop was given the opportunity to explain or perhaps do something about it. To which there first response was it may have been because of driver abuse. I visited the shop to explain what had happened and they would only do the repair which “might” be covered under warranty if they did the work. Even an apology would have been better than nothing at this stage but the staff member I spoke to did not offer anything. Anyway, would not recommend and I’m going back to my regular mechanic which is nowhere near my house.

Huge thanks to Matt, Jordan and team for fixing our car just before Xmas, we had travelled from Western Australia and blew a head gasket on Adelaide Hill, they fit us in and had us back on the road in 5 days, great service and so grateful for saving our trip, if we were local wewould give them all our business. 100% recommend

Broke down on the freeway, was towed by insurance to m&m, and the service we were provided was second to none. We were back on the road within 24 hours, the boys went out of there way to look after us, and the work provided was excellent. Thankyou so much.

We were recommended to M&M by word of mouth, and have been having our car serviced there for about 2 years.They DO NOT take wheels off to check brake pads. They can't, because we were told we had 60% left on our rear brakes and within 2mo and 3000kms we had 0%. Metal on metal, to the point where we had to get the rotors replaced as well (which was verified by two separate mechanics).So we were left with a pretty hefty repair bill and an undriveable car. When we rang them to ask about this, they said that a caliper may have seized and caused one of the pads to wear faster than it should. The mechanic who repaired the wheels confirmed that the caliper had not seized, and that both rear brake pads had worn pretty much evenly.We were told that they could offer us a credit on the next service, but we declined. Understandably we don't want to continue to get our car serviced there if they won't do a proper job. Bearing in mind of course that we watched the other mechanic lift the car to take off the wheels, and the whole process took maybe 10 minutes. M&M had our car for 5 hours.We expressed that we would prefer a refund on the service, given that it was not done properly. Not the oil change, not the air filter that was replaced at the same time, not reimbursement for the repairs, just a straight up refund for a service that was not adequately provided. We were told that the guy we were speaking to wasn't authorised to do refunds, and that he'd chat to the owner and we'd get a call back.We were rung once, in the middle of a doctor's appointment, and not again over 2 full days. I rang them back twice on the landline (the number that called us), no answer, left a message. Rang the mobile and was told to call the landline. Finally got through on the landline, had to explain the whole situation again. Was told I should have given them a chance to repair it, I told them it wasn't driveable and we aren't local to them, was told they have tows available, said I didn't trust that an honest job would be done. Reiterated that all we wanted was a refund for the service itself.Was told once again that this different person was also not authorised to provide a refund, and that she would talk to the owner and ring me back. It has been 3 and a half days (one public holiday, the rest business days) and no phone call. I've tried ringing them 3 times with no answer, left a message twice and still no response, so understandably feels very much like they are either giving us the runaround or just don't care.____tl;dr They cut corners, that resulted in us with no rear brakes and a heavy and entirely avoidable repair bill, that we will have to foot, because we didn't want to get it repaired through them after they didn't properly do a very simple part of a basic service. They won't communicate, and won't refund the service that wasn't adequately provided.——EDIT: In response to the review reply: As mentioned in our correspondence and in the initial review, while the other brake pad had a small amount left on it, the mechanic who replaced them confirmed that it was not enough to safely drive on, and that it should have been replaced.He also specifically confirmed that there was no issue with the calipers when the concern was raised.I’m not sure how less than 3,000kms can qualify as ‘several’, especially given services generally only occur every 10,000.As stated in the initial review, you offered us a ‘credit on our next service’. We did not want a credit on a service we no longer trusted, we wanted a refund of the service that was not rendered.I too am sorry that despite us being told that only the boss could authorise a refund, and that said boss was also the one who did the service, that the boss at no point made any effort to contact us himself to resolve the matter one way or the other.Our communications were more often than not ignored or not followed up, despite us giving all the information requested as soon as possible, so we were left to assume that you were content to ignore the issue.

I do lost of my own work, but really didn't feel like this particular job, M&M Did the job exactly as asked and required finishing early than expected, and they polished up my foggy headlights for free, love this place excellent work

During visit to Adelaide from Sydney our Isuzu MU-X broke down on Bald Hills Rd Mount Barker due to poor quality fuel which gunked up injectors and fuel filter. Mathew saw our cars bonnet open on the side of the road and pulled over to see if we needed help. We definitely needed his help and he got us going and we managed to continue on to visit our daughter.However the new fuel filter and injector cleaner additives I poured into the tank over the next few days did not improve the running of the Isuzus engine.On our last day the Isuzu got even worse so I limped over to M & M Garage with no booking around mid day and the boys told me the constant easy start I had been spraying into the throttle body to force start the Isuzu had killed the starter motor.Matty was 2 staff short on the day when I got to his shop but he understood I had to leave for Sydney that day.Matty sent a staff member to pickup an after market starter motor. They recommended the fuel tank also get drained and good fuel filled up. So tank was also drained.The boys worked on the car to ensure we were able to start our journey back to Sydney. It was 6pm when they were satisfied we could safely start our journey. We safely made it back to Sydney without any hiccups.Will definitely recommend M & M Garage to anyone while the shop is being run by Matty and managed by Jordon.Thank you very much guys.
