Great teachers and an excellent environment. And the best thing is they'll get you ready to dance to all the great jazz music out there if that is what you want to do. Corner Pocket Swing encourages you to have fun and they'll support you in reaching whatever level you want to take your dancing to; whether that is beginner, exceptional or somewhere in between, plus you'll have so much fun along the way.

After trying every dance under the sun, I’ve found my place at swing with Rob and Emma and their team of terrific teachers. I have never had this much fun with a dance and I just can’t get enough, 9hrs a week? Yes please.

Having been to two different swing dancing classes in Brisbane, Corner Pocket is in my opinion, the better of the two. Rob and Emma run the business very well and having the various teachers swap over the teaching means that they all describe techniques slightly differently, so you're always learning something new, or getting a slightly new explanation on how to improve.Swapping through the partners each lesson you really do get a chance to meet new people and make some friends.Unfortunately with COVID and personal studies my continued swing education has been put on hold but I look forward to returning to Corner Pocket and the wonderful community they have fostered there.

My wife and I learnt our wedding dance from Matt and Alice at Corner pocket swing. They are amazing teachers, turning us from complete beginners into semi-pro swing dancers to the amazement and surprise of our wedding guests. We are so glad we put in the effort to learn, and incredibly grateful to Matt and Alice for all the patience they had with us and effort they put in behind the scenes to choreograph our dance. They let us film them at the end of every 1 hour lesson (we had 6 lessons over 6 weeks) so we had accurate study material to practice before the next lesson. I highly recommend them as dance teachers.

If you want to learn Swing Dancing (Lindy Hop and Balboa) then this is the place! Not only are the Owners (Emma and Rob) and their Teachers all lovely people, they are very skilled, passionate about dance and truly wish to share this with their students. As well as attending the group classes on on Mon/Tues/Thurs night, I have also had private classes for the past year and it has been a wonderful experience.Corner Pocket Swing have created a very welcoming Swing Dance Community. If you are a beginner then one of their Crash Dance Workshops (held regularly on Saturday mornings) is the place to start.You don’t need a partner btw :)

Wonderful enthusiasm for the dance and utter enjoyment to show dancers how. It is contagious. An excellent variety of dance styles on offer. And Wednesday night jazz and more means I want to dance every night of the week. I like having teacher blocks. Each dance pair brings their own style and moves, which keeps interest on high alert.

If you are any way interested in learning how to dance to swing music then Corner Pocket Swing is the place to go. Rob and Emma have been learning and competing in various styles of swing dance round the world for years (prior to Covid of course). Whether it is Lindy Hop, Charleston or Balboa they know their stuff!They have also passed their expertise and passion into the up and coming crop of new teachers encouraging them to explore their own expressions and nuances to the classes they take.It is a very inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged be themselves and feel safe.Couldn't recommend the whole team highly enough.
