Joe is not only a master of his craft and in possession of a wealth of knowledge and experience, but he is also excellent at passing on knowledge and skills to others. I valued the emphasis on building up correct techniques and skills from day 1, despite us having no prior knowledge of ceramics. I learned a tremendous amount from my first course with Joe and will definitely be doing further courses with him.

Joe runs a great course at his beautiful home / office on Mt Ninderry. He is a true professor of the art of pottery and has superb patience to attend to everybody in a relaxed and individual way. Both my wife and I completed the course, we had different speeds and goals and Joe was able to help both of us maximize our time and skills. We both really enjoyed it and will definitely return and recommend.

I attended Joe's classes for a year starting as a rank beginner. Joe is a patient and knowledgeable person who knows how to teach adults. His classes are relaxed and students progress at their own pace and according to their developing skill levels. Joe's an awesome potter" who covers all skill levels and in my case assisted me to go from stunted

Joe is very patient and clear in his teaching. His knowledge is extensive and I can ask for guidance in learning new things that interest me and from what other students are doing.It is lovely environment to go at your own pace but have help when you need it.I love seeing the results after firing in his gas fired kiln too!

He was always willing to talk through the technical aspects that can result from the glaze effects, andhey Joe..." was always a catch cry in the studio.I introduced my partner to the classes and he has certainly excelled as a wheel potter under Joe's guidance and encouragement.Joe's relocation to the Sunshine Coast with his artist partner Katrina has left a huge gap in pottery classes in Brisbane

I would highly recommend Oxide Clay Art. Joe is a wonderful teacher – he is easy going and is very approachable. I have learnt so much through Joe’s expertise of pottery and would recommend his classes to everyone. I had never done wheel throwing before and found his classes to be easy-to-follow and fun. Joe’s classes are somewhere I go to unwind (while still learning the wonderful art of wheel throwing). There is nothing more rewarding than picking up your finished pottery pieces once they are completed :)
