I have older 5.4m fishing boat with a 75hp Honda that has hundreds of hours on itThe guys at Sports Marine have been fantastic in keeping me on the water over many yearsI have bought a used trailer here and have had numerous repairs and motor services over many years I have no complaints regarding service nor workmanship. Interesting that the staff I have contact with never seem to leave.I am writing this blog as consistent good performance should be rewarded

Peter was fantastic, really friend and worked hard to get us into a boat that was right for us, even driving it to our house to help me make sure it fit through the garage! He also put together a great package of equipment to kit out the boat so it would suit our needs.

Surprisingly helpful considering my past experience with other boat dealers.

It was a very disappointing experience all round, If you are buying a second hand boat be very careful and make sure you thoroughly inspect the boat before purchase. It seems Sports Marine SA will only do what is legal required. Email communication below.Subject: Hull DamageHi Adam,I refer to our phone conversation on Friday regarding damage I have found to the hull of the tinnie I purchased from Sports Marine.I find in impossible that someone at Sports Marine didn’t know about the damage to the hull. I asked at the time of sale if there was anything wrong with the boat and you assured me it was in good clean, near new condition with new trailer. While I was cleaning the boat Friday I came across bog filler in the bottom of the hull were I presume the old trailer sliders would have sat. (image attached)After getting some external advice this is significate damage to the boat and the hull looks to be cracked. I’m told the tinnie has 2mm aluminium bottom and would not be possible to weld without some sort of patch work to the inside of the hull.I did not purchase a tinnie with a patched-up hull, so I will return the tinnie to you on Wednesday and ask for a refund of the sale price.I played $9,000 with the 15hp Mercury outboard engine.If I can drop the boat back for a refund.ThanksSport Marine reply from owner Peter HeinrichHi Jarrad,Thank you for your email noting the hull damage to the Stacer 379 Proline. The boat was purchased from our previous customer along with a 2nd hand engine and a collapsible trailer.We were unaware of any hull damage when it arrived on the collapsible trailer. To package it up as an attractive vee nose punt package we changed the boat onto the Telwater trailer. It is unfortunate that the damage was missed at the time as we would have rectified it.Under consumer law we have the option to repair the boat and make it fit for use which I believe has been offered to you.We are not compelled, and we do not intend to refund your purchase cost.We look forward to completing the boat repair to be carried out by an aluminium engineer.RegardsPeter Heinrich
