Having stayed previously, the venue had a great vibe. This time around, for unpowered camping it was $30 a person. We were told that we would receive an email confirmation, but that didn't happen. (to be told that is because we booked online - which we didn't as I rang them to make the booking)We had been allocated two sites as we were a group of two families. We managed to squeeze onto a large site, using the other site to park cars etc. and when another camper moved onto our second site, we were told my management that it was a first in best dressed arrangement. (even if though we were there for 2 nights previously). We would have been better of putting a swag there in hindsight.Yet, we still were charged the $30 per night per person. Now we were camping, and one of our travelers couldn't travel, but because we didn't let them know within 24 hours of check in, we were still slugged the $90. We could only conclude that they charge by the blade of grass that one occupies to have a policy for non-powered camping sites that would normally apply to rooms etc.Oh - and did I mention that we had to prove that we had paid them the correct amount - this would have been easily rectified if we had of had our confirmation, but no, we had to scroll through our online banking apps, and then confirm that payment on their EFTPOS machine.Value for money if you are camping - No. You would think that as two families, outlaying over $700 for Easter unpowered camping there would have been a little more customer service to maintain repeat business. There are other camping sites nearby as good alternatives that we explored whilst there.Unpowered Camping very expensive. Camp kitchen had no water pressure. Amenities were reasonable but certainly not what would be expected at the price charged. Appreciate that tourism has been doing it tough, but we really felt ripped off after our experience with the onsite manager, and the team.

Cyle and his family are doing a beautiful job with this place. He was very welcoming and helpful. We felt right at home a half a world away. Thank you!

Really uninviting and unprofessional staff. Paid for a powered site to find that it was a mud pit at the back of a cabin with someone else parked on it, was offered zero refund and when we approached a staff member he didn’t care and just say ‘oh well’. We needed to use the washing machines so we paid for two loads and return back to machine which changed to ‘out of order’ whilst away so we had to pay for a second time and when we asked a staff member he said ‘yeah well we don’t own them, nothing I can do’. Rather go somewhere else.

Had food poisoning a few months back there. The manager at the time offered a 1 night stay free of charge, now the new manager has no information on this and refused to honour it. Won't be going back even with a free room. They ruin your holiday, and think it's ok to just pretend it never happen. Cairns local, and I'll make sure everyone knows their lack of responsibility over something so severe as food poisoning.

A reasonable hostel for a nights stay during a Daintree trip. I would definitely avoid if you’re not a fan of spiders or the outdoors though! Room was relatively cheap for myself and my group of friends and we enjoyed our stay overall. Kitchen needs some work as it was pretty gross and had almost no equipment in it but it still did the job at the end of the day when you could fetch paper plates and cutlery from the bar.

We didn't stay here (did in 2003 though), but came in for dinner. There are barely any dinner options in Cape Trib during low season, so we had no other option then to go here.We were hesitant because of the bad food reviews. But we were pleasantly surprised. Staff is friendly and the food was good. We understand there's a new owner very recently, so that might explain the bad reviews before.Anyway, we recommend coming here for the food.

The most kind and amazing people going out of their way to help us and give us a beautiful experience. The facilities are super clean, hot showers, plenty of kitchen space, and amazing location next to beach and rainforest. The bar is a place for backpackers and locals so it’s super fun. Had the best time here thank you :)

We were looking for an affordable yet comfortable room with AC and PK’s was the perfect spot for us. Great location in this area and the room was simple yet plenty for our needs. We felt the lodging provided great value and we’d stay again if in this area.
