I recently took the School of Design graphic design course for non-creatives, and I now see design in a whole different light!Julie is a fantastic teacher, very knowledgeable and incredibly generous with her time. I particularly loved how she used one of our brands in our weekly Facebook lives to demonstrate a particular topic.I learnt so much, and I'm slowly starting to implement it with my business and my clients.I cannot recommend the School of Design highly enough! I took 'The School of Design Course' by Julie earlier this year.I have been working in web development, social media and in general the creative space for many years. I love creativity and have read and researched many things about design, and yet still....this is the course that was a game changer for me. It was the missing piece of the puzzle.Why? Julie clearly has a lot of real world experience in design and she brings that experience to this course . True design is in her blood and so, in the course you learn about WHY, not just what.Every day, I use the takeaways from the course when I am preparing my work. From a quick graphic for a client's social media, to web design and even into my house I still can hear Julie's voice in the back of my head.Having this knowledge is not only brilliant for my workflow but it gives me the confidence to explore design more and assess why something may or may not work.I highly recommend it to anyone who has to prepare graphics and even who just enjoys design. It really is worth it.

Julie at That Design Lady initially helped me to refine my personalised gift business logo - she took my concept and turned it into something professional that brilliantly reflected the feelOf my brand. She subsequently produced a beautiful logo for another project of mine that is in the works. So when she launched her School of Design of course I was keen and signed up quick!I really enjoyed every module of That Design Lady’s School of Design and was so glad i made the investment in the course’s first intake. As a self-taught designer, getting insight into how Julie works and what she prioritises in the design process was invaluable for me. The course is comprehensive and well structured, rich with helpful and detailed content on topics like typography, layout, colour and more - each week there are achievable and useful homework tasks. On top of all this goodness is Julie herself, with her talents, deep experience in design and her giving nature. Her weekly live sessions bring the course content to life with real world examples, often centred around specifics of the course participants’ own branding and design challenges. Julie is incredibly available and helpful, second to none. But in spite of all this, School of Design doesn’t overwhelm the learner and you will walk away at the end armed with skills and knowledge you can use forever. Highly recommended.

I have been working with Julie on 2 design projects for my 2 businesses. She has created logo's and style guides for both plus labels for products and I'm SUPER happy with the results. I became a student as well through her Design School and learnt sooooo much in design as it is not my forte and by completing this, I now know how to design and style my Instagram and Facebook business page posts, cover banner, how to style my website (which I will now be changing and improving!), how to take photographs and all the back end silly stuff! It has been an absolute pleasure working this this extremely busy lady and will call on her again if need be. Thank you for EVERYTHING Julie!

I highly recommend the Design School course if you're looking at taking your small business to the next level. I was at a stage where I was just guessing and googling a lot and felt a bit lost. Julie's course is very informative that covers branding, graphics, photography, social media and so much more.I would look forward to the live group once a week where Julie really helps everyone by providing ideas and examples for their particular business. I now feel more confident on social media and have already reached a sales goal before the end of the year. I feel I have only just scratched the surface and excited now where I can take my business. This course is so much value for money and an enjoyable experience whilst being surrounded by supportive like minded people.

I came across Julie / That Design Lady on Instagram and her aesthetic appealed to me straightaway. I'm in the process of product development and branding and chose Julie to bring my vision to a brand. Her onboarding questionnaire was easy to fill out. After the second round of my branding drafts, I completely changed idea and Julie gave me a call to run through it and she delivered exactly what I couldn't seem to draw out myself. As a part of the first ever Design School I learnt and gained skills I could only have dreamed of prior to beginning this course.The weekly content was very easy to follow and informative.
