Department of Home Affairs - Entry via a pre-arranged appointment only

Could someone please let me know how to get to see someone at Parramatta? I've been grappling with long on-hold and fragmented telephonic conversations, and all I need is guidance relating to a Visitors visa for my daughter?#PLEASEHELP

Could’ve been better. I’m only giving 2 stars I just rang them to ask a pretty straight forward simple question and finally got what I wanted in the end. And they put me on hold for almost 5 minutes which adds unnecessary extra time. Doesn’t have to be 15 minute call either. Not to mention: things DO change. All I wanted was a simple yes or no. Because childhood educators are in fact teachers too! Which is in fact an insult to Early Childhood Teachers because they too are classified as teachers as well! Are they eligible to sign off? Yes/No? Just saying. Turns out it’s a No! The woman was going in circles asking if I had the form? Why? Yes I read the form. I’m just calling to double check. That’s all. It’s not rocket science. Just do your job and and help me out to give me reconfirmation. I hear things change with these terms and conditions too. Seems like the blueprint of these applications have not changed in years by the looks of it. Plus it’s not like it’s as clear or that we are prompt to be informed any sooner or quicker witch certain changes to applications too. So yeah..It doesn’t hurt to call up and ask. Thats all I’m saying. Do better!!!

Honestly, even after so much work pressure at their end and few minor mistakes from my side while applying the visa, still they provided the tourist visa for my family member after multiple Follow up.I am really thankful for the service considering that if the visa would have not came then I would have suffered lot of financial loss as i have planned internal Australia trip with my family members.Hope is a good thing,may be the best of things and no good things ever die.Keep it up

I had a good experience, but there was a guy whose I guess his english wasn't good and, to be honest, the guard of the building wasn't nice to him. The people that work on the 3rd floor were so kind and patience with me, thank you so much.

15/5/23 - I got to the building right on my appt time so saw a queue so thought we had to line up. Then after 10 mins I realised they were calling out for people with appt time and letting everyone in so I came up front then explained the situation to the guard that I thought we had to line up to get inside.The security guard at the front door was being very rude and commenting/questioning back on why I didn’t come up front when he was calling out the appt time. I told him I didn’t realise, and with a very disappointing look in his face then he let me in.Then again after scanning the bar code, there was another man looking up our name on the piece of paper and letting everyone in. So he couldn’t find my name and I clearly already found it so I pointed it to him and then again this guy comments that I was late and that’s why he was looking on the wrong appt time therefore couldn’t find my name - again in a very rude and condescending tone.So both these interaction with these two men made me feel terrible about myself, I felt unsafe, they made me feel like I did a huge mistake and ruined my mood for the day. They are very rude, condescending, unfriendly and ignorant. Thanks guys for the great customer service (not)!Finally, just wanna say that they need to be taught a lesson or few on basic manners and customer service. Very disappointed.

Excellent experience. The staff are really friendly, patient and helpful.The process is very quick, no need to be there in more than 10 minutes.Do not hesitate to knock on the door when it’s time for your appointment

My husband attended 16/2/23 , me 17/2/23 for our citizenship tests.we were both really impressed with the organisation and speed of the service as well as the patience, kindness and professionalism of all the staff.They couldn’t be a more user friendly in the service and in minimising the users nerves over the test and interview.Hugest respect and sincere thanks to all involved, you’re very much appreciated.

Better organized than first impression. Kind security person called in every ten minutes people with appointment. Not getting 5* just because home affairs don’t have a line for questions. This intentional avoidance of providing service seems counteraustralian.

Absolute TRASH! They have nothing better to do than make everything exponentially harder than it needs to be. Absolute time wasters! You give them the proof required, the find the smallest issue and its a constant back and forth.Bunch of keyboard warriors with absolutely ZERO compassion. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Amazing experience! very efficient, in and out in 10 mins, staffs are so friendly and put you at ease. The whole process was so easy and smooth, you are doing a great job dept of home affairs, and thank you!
