Kangaroo Valley Horse Riding

We visited last weekend to meet Geoff & Gail for a introductory horse riding experience and the knowledge and education that they presented to assist us understand these animals was impeccable. After this education given to us, we never felt unsafe during our horse ride. Our group members and ourselves were pleased with the experience and congratulate Geoff and Gail for providing an unforgettable true mountain horse riding experience, thank you, you were great.

We did the 3 hour ride up to the top of Mt. Moollootoo and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Geoff spent a good amount of time teaching us about horse training and how to approach, calm and control horses (as best a human can hope for!). This was great fun and I learned plenty of do's and don'ts which is something I've never got from other trail rides. The terrain on the trail is highly variable, including rainforest, narrow scrub tracks and winding, steep forest tracks which makes for a very interesting ride. It was great to learn some history of the Kangaroo Valley area and history of some of the individual horses - including Geoff's horse - a retired racing horse. The views at the top of the mountain are spectacular and we were blessed with fantastic, sunny autumn weather. For someone who loves to ask questions, Geoff was completely engaging and I could tell he enjoyed his work, loved his horses, and loved teaching people about horse work. My overall impression was that Geoff and Gail run the business more as a Horse Sanctuary" than money making venture. They look after many retired horses that might not otherwise have somewhere to live out their lives. The price of our ride which included lunch afterwards in the Kangaroo Valley township was excellent value. Great fun and highly recommended. Don't book in to do anything too quickly afterwards. Leaving yourself enough time to not rush

Fantastic adventure. Geoff was absolutely great at taking the time to explain the fundamentals to my son, who had never ridden before. The trail ride itself was just so amazing and relaxing, we were at one with nature. A truly memorable experience.

With my wife and two kids, we arrived to a very warm friendly welcome from Geoff and Gail. We were at the main lodge and were very happy with the accomadation. It was very comfy and exactly how we wanted it. Right in the bushy surrounding of hills and the sound of local birds.Our kids loved the friendly dogs and Tiny, the pony. They loved seeing the big horses and helping Geoff, where they can.Thank you Geoff and Gail. We hope to see you again soon.

Geoff and Gail thank you so much for your hospitality and an awesome experience. Learnt so much about the horses and the land, it's safe to say that you get way more than a terrifically scenic trail ride when you book with these two! Thank you again guys for an unforgettable time!

Such a lovely couple Geoff and Gail are and so knowledgeable.The horses were calm and well trained. The ride was incredible, views of the bush, the mountains and the river, simply stunning.

We went trail riding a while back and can remember the horse I had did not suit me. I was a little panicked by it all, then one of the instructions had said the horse played up due to my lack of experience, blaming it on me. I was very hurt by this.I do not wish for this to scare you away though as my sister and friend came along and had the best time. The trial itself was stunning and if you have experience and go with other experienced people it's really good. They had jumps on a x-country setup too.I just want to be 100% honest.

I arrived at this isolated farm with a sense of excitement because I had been looking forward to this long-awaited ride for many months. I am a secondary school teacher from Sydney. Unfortunately, this feeling was rudely squashed by the very rude proprietor who made it clear he did not want to take out our ride after a busy Easter weekend. I would suggest they not take bookings the morning after a public holiday, if it is such a burden.Therefore, I cannot recommend this equestrian establishment because the obnoxious owner, Geoff does not have the warm personality of a welcoming host or even a compassionate horseman. He refused to take my sister and I out because I told him I didn't want a lesson from him, just a peaceful trail ride. The two of us were looking forward to our pre-booked ride after a very long drive from Sydney and an early rise. He was very bad mannered and rude and we were bitterly disappointed.I will never go there again. As a retired British Horse Society qualified instructor and ex-jockey for Scobie Breasely I am well versed with safety procedures on trail rides as is my sister, but Geoff made the incorrect assumption we were naive tourists and treated us with the utmost disrespect and caused us a great deal of inconvenience. Do not support business people like him. I have read his response and he misquoted me, and we never went near his house.

Me and my boyfriend did this Horse Riding trail in the summer and it was incredible. Geoff taught us so much about horses and how to interact with them (and all animals in fact). Gail was lovely and funny and we could've spent so much time with them learning about their life and experiences. Their love of horses is so obvious and they taught us a lot. The ride was magnificent up the mountain and Geoff's knowledge (on horses and other topics) was superb. The views and serenity were incomparable. Such a beautiful spot in Kangaroo Valley. We couldn't recommend doing horse riding here more highly. A unique experience.

Such a beautiful serene place, the tracks up the mountain were fun and the views amazing. Geoff and Gail love and respect their horses and take such good care of them. They spent time with us teaching us horsemanship and the gentle respect they have for the horses is admirable and we enjoyed learning from Geoff ‘the horse whisperer’.Also their doggies that greet you as you arrive are such friendly characters, its hard not to be happy as soon as you are through the gate.We highly recommend this experience.Lauren and Mel
