The Garden Berry
Popped by The Garden Berry for a sunday lunch. The place was already quite full but we were able to get an outdoor seat at the back. The service was alright. We ordered the beef bourguignon pot pie and trout salad for mains. Our drinks were the iced coffee and chai latte. The pie was very delicious and the trout salad was fresh and tasty. The chai latte was abit more mild than I'm used to.Overall we were impressed by the quality of the food and had a great time. Definitely would recommend!

Beautiful venue with a wide range on the menu. Loved the prawn chorizo spaghettini. They have both indoor and under cover outdoor seating.

Flies and cockroaches everywhere.Edit after reading the reply. There were actually 100 flies around where we were sitting to eat and we could barely eat our food or sit there because of them… (which i did not click), this was near the payment counter before leaving when I had to leave a review to let others know, as this tells me there is a hygene problem . There weren’t any flies in any of the outdoor restaurants around so highly doubt that’s the reason.

Amazing food! Service was quick and each plate of food was incredible. We loved how diverse the options were and would definitely recommend that people try this place out. Even though we went in a busy time we were seated/greeted immediately. My grandma has a walker and there was enough room to store it whilst we ate so this establishment is elderly/disabled/pram friendly (basically anyone who needs a bit extra room). Can’t wait to come back!

Delicious and perfect. We had the most delicious lunch here! I ordered the Smoked Trout Salad and a Chai Latte and my husband had the Prawn and Chorizo Spaghettini (gf). Both were divine! It was one of the meals where we enjoyed every mouthful and kept uttering little mmms and ahhhs as we ate.Our waitress was warm and friendly and the cafe was cosy on a cool, drizzly day. We'd go back tomorrow if we didn't live so far away!

Randomly picked this cafe when I drove nearby. The garden really surprised me as it is exactly gave me the dining experience like sitting in a beautiful garden. Highly recommend.

Beautiful outdoor oasis in Berry - loved the house-smoked trout salad! Impressed with the barista who makes and serves the drinks and the waiter who pleasantly managed the floor by himself.

Such a beautiful Berry gem! Came for Mother's Day. We were sat at a lovely table out the back - great service (I don't drink and was offered an alcohol free prosecco by the delightful VIP waiter), food was delicious - I had the pesto pasta and hubby had the lamb shanks. Kids meals were good as well. We were tempted to stay for dessert but we were too full! I would highly recommend this venue and will most definitely return.

Berry has no shortages of cafe dining options so one would assume that competition is fierce to deliver a dining experience that captivates locals and tourists alike. The Garden has so much potential to be a really great venue but sadly comes up somewhat lacklustre. The unassuming shop front provides for entry off Berry’s bustling Main Street and there is comfortable seating indoors however the place to be is the alfresco area at the rear of the venue. The ambiance is great and bonus points for being dog friendly.Unfortunately things start going down hill from here. With the crowds that flock to Berry every weekend wait staff should be well oiled machines providing seamless service. For a moderate crowd the staff on the day we visited were friendly but a little clumsy in their execution. As we waited for our order to be taken I overheard another table sending dishes back due to undercooked eggs and other unfulfilled requests… Not a good sign. The breakfast/ brunch menu is also disappointing. There is no wow factor and it’s pretty much bacon and eggs in different forms and a few vegan/ vegetarian options to satisfy that demographic. We ordered the Bacon and Eggs, Turkish Eggs and Sweet Bruschetta. We also ordered a round of coffees in varying forms. Let’s get the coffees out of the way first. The hot varieties were fine. Nothing extraordinary and the iced latte was also ok but served in a low ball glass; I would think most people expect a high ball when it comes to iced coffees, the ice to milk and coffee ratio just isn’t right otherwise. The meals were not great to be honest. The Bacon and eggs were the worst of the group. I ordered poached but what came out was a gloopy gelatinous slop on a piece of sourdough. It wasn’t hot and frankly not a pleasant meal at all. The Turkish eggs are a bit like an eggy pizza. Not very imaginative but pleasant enough flavours. The Sweet Bruschetta hits the flavour and freshness points but at one piece of bread for $15 it’s not much bang for your buck.All-in-all the potential is high but the execution is lacking… for a total of $70 for what you see pictured it’s not quite there.

YUM. YUM. YUM. Prawn and chorizo pasta to die for as you can tell from the empty bowl. Virgin passionfruit moijto was also very delicious and refreshing. Amazing attentive staff, Jaxon in particular making a great dining experience! Will be back :)
