Yongala Dive

We had a great dive on the Yongala. Lots of sea snakes and huge fish ! One thing to note- my partner and I are relatively experienced divers (both over 200 dives each) and we found this dive quite challenging because of the conditions (very strong current). I probably wouldn’t recommend to those with little diving experience.

I would not recommend you to book a dive to SS Yongala if you are less flexible because of traveling by Greyhound bus. When they said the day before that the dive would take place I booked 2 nights in Ayr and a non-refundable bus ticket for my onward journey the next day. Instead of my pickup at 7:15 a.m. I got the call that the dive would not take place due to the weather and now I’m stranded in Ayr, having already bought hotel and bus ticket. And this is apparently really not an isolated case, I met a girl in the hostel a week earlier who had exactly the same experience.Keep in mind that perfect weather in Ayr & on Alva beach tells you nothing about the wind & water current at the diving site, so you can’t make a forecast by yourself.

Yongala exceeded my expectations, it is incredible the abundance of marine life you see. Shout out to all the staff who made this trip even better, they are all very knowledgeable and friendly. I didn’t have a car to get there and they sorted everything out to make it possible. Thanks for all and hope to see you soon! :)

Such a great experience at Yongala Dive!! From booking my dive, to the bbq meal at the end of the trip, I couldn't have asked for more! Awesome crew. Super knowledgeable and clearly experienced. Would highly recommend. Also… INCREDIBLE dive site!!!

Amazing staff- loved Steve and deco Dan!! I researched all the companies to dive the yongala and this one certainly lived up to my high expectations and was amazing! From start to finish, Steve and Dan provided an awesome experience. They had all the gear set up ready to go and Steve had a really detailed briefing. I haven’t done that many deep dives and Steve had so many great tips to make the most of my dive. I also loved the grilled sausage post-dive- so yummy. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to dive the Yongala- you won’t regret it!

Amazing staff, unbelievable diving sites.Just 30 minutes one way cruising.Huge number of underwater animals including a lot of school fishes.The staff service is amazing, Matt, Steve and lovely Piper. I can't wait to come back again. Thank you for lovely staff.

We had today a really nice dive at MOUA. We were a small group with snacks on the boot. Our instructor (Alex) was really nice & patient and showed us everything. Also the rest of the team was really friendly. Would definitely book the trip again:)

Could not recommend these guys enough! I stayed at the divers cabin for two nights and did a double dive to the wreck. The marine life at the wreck is just amazing. It really lives up to the expectations and then some. Elliott was my dive guide who was awesome and I want to give a special shout-out to Alex and scuba Steve for making the whole experience amazing. 5 stars from me.
