Darren is very experienced, easy to deal with & has come up with an amazing design for our pool & outdoor area, to blend into the house & fit with the area. Highly recommend DCS Design.

I engaged DCS Designs to do some consultancy work for me regarding some rectification work we needed done on our building. Darren was very prompt and professional. The attention to detail was above and beyond my expectations. We are implementing his recommendations. Highly recommended.

Cross River Mountain Retreat" by DCS Design - if you are looking at this property please do note that it is still in the process of being built therefore there are parts still unfinished. (August 2017) There is no mention of this whilst making a booking. Myself along with 7 other friends stayed at this "retreat" for the weekend while we enjoy Mt Buller for skiing. I have to say

Don’t make the same mistake that I made. Find someone who will care about your project, for most of us (me included), I put my trust in this guy to design and project manage the construction of my family residence. I admit that we were young and naive when it came to projects such as this. Our brief to Darren was along the lines of “plenty of natural light, and modern with an unusual entrance”. Budget was 400k. He designed a house that looked fantastic on paper. We fell in love with the design. Then the estimated cost came in at over 500k. Idiots we were, we stretched ourselves and went ahead, purely over the look that Darren achieved on paper. Our first mistake. He put it out to tender, 2 prices came back, 510k and 700k. A no brainer that we went with the 510k builder, who “surprise surprise”, was Darren’s mate. It was clear this tender process was carefully “engineered” so that we chose his builder mate. Our second mistake. We asked for built in refrigerated cooling. It was forgotten/ignored. We were given a 2 storey house with no opening windows on the 2nd storey, and a flat roof. An absolute hot box. Unliveable. And this clown had no inclination to rectify any of the multiple issues we had with the builder during the course of the build. The most indecisive, ambiguous out of his depth unprofessional I have dealt with. One positive, he taught me never to trust anyone and ALWAYS keep an eye on your building projects yourself. If your contract prohibits you from entering the site, get it amended. My next build went so much smoother and we actually ended up with what we wanted and for the price we were comfortable with. These cowboys WILL suck you in and rip you off. Sorry if I’m babbling on, I cannot stress enough to anyone considering hiring this guy, he isn’t fit to mow my lawns. I am happy to discuss further in detail if anyone wishes.
