Shannon’s directions are pretty good. You need to head into the salt plain and turn right. It’s the first rocky outcrop on the right. You’ll see one close to the road in the middle. Keep that on your left.

Beautiful peice of the pilbaras history. It isn't signed, nor very safe to pull off into or out of. But definitely worth a look. Love all the little trinkets people have left there

Definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of the Red Dog story! As has been mentioned, the marker on the map is wrong, I've updated it to the correct position. As a rough guide, when heading towards Cossack, pull off the right hand side of the road once you've gone around the first big bend in the road and the hills and scrub give way to a lower lying area which is more gravelly. There is a very short goat track up to the rocky outcrop where the memorial plaque is fixed.

Lovely little spot in memory of a dog with a beautiful story. I’m from the uk and had never heard of the story before coming to Australia but after watching the film I can now say it is one of my favourites.
