Clyde River Houseboats

We just had an amazing weekend on Waratah. We experienced 4 seasons in 3 days and were constantly comfortable. Great heating, sunbaking, fishing, super comfy mattresses, nice hot shower, everything we needed in the kitchen, gorgeous sunsets and epic moon and star reflections in the water. One of my fave weekends away yet. We are checking diaries now to book again :-)Huge thanks to the Clyde team, from booking to disembarking they couldn't have been more helpful.

After the bushfires we decided to do our bit and support the Batemans Bay Area.Before sales service was good. On arrival I was told that we would need to pay for fuel and this would be taken from our bond of $1500 which I paid that day. I was surprised by this as there was no mention of fuel at all prior or on the website. I asked how much this might be and was told it could be another $300.The boat wasn’t ready and the wharf was a mess, however the boat itself was very comfortable and mostly well appointed. Some contradictory information was given about where to tie the tinny to the vessel, but all in all we had no issues and had a beautiful three nights on board the Nowhere bound on a slow drive to Nelligen and back.As mentioned in other reviews below this is where the problems began. Suzy no longer answered messages and when asked said my bond would be refunded the next day. It took three weeks to refund the bond and then nearly $230 was taken for fuel, which seemed expensive on top of the nearly $1600 per night hire.No invoices or receipts were supplied at any time.

We'll be back!!!Bob, Suzie & staff were fabulous.The houseboat was just what we needed with all the amenities you need including an oven, microwave & fridge.The Clyde River was so easy to navigate, swimming was great & a spectacular evening show of 10,000's of jellyfish headed out to sea.

I've been on a houseboat holiday with Clyde River Houseboats at least 4 times. They make for a fabulous holiday. So relaxing. Even if it's raining, we still loved it.Take games and puzzles, if you enjoy them.Plan ahead, make lists for groceries, bait, ice, sunscreen, mozzie zappers/candles, beach gear for the sandy river banks, aeroguard, insect spray.I wouldn't recommend having young children or pets with you, because of the access to the water.

A first timer but a beautiful one. In a way, it was a childhood dream came true. We stayed on a standard houseboat (River Gum) and it was nice and very cosy with water views all around which you don't get that often. The weather was cool and pleasant throughout the trip. All staff members were very friendly and helpful - a BIG thumb up! I got to experience this 4-day trip at so many different levels. Some of my highlights include things like living in a constantly moving house, fishing literally at your door steps any time of the day or night - so convenient, steering the boat up and down the river like a captain - love that wooden steering wheel, and securing the boat with the boat's anchor or to a mooring - real fun.An experience I will treasure for a long time.

Just got back home from a week on one of these houseboats, and all I can say is I WISH I was back there! The houseboat is really lovely and has all the comforts of home (we were really surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was! We brought a lot of cooking gear/utensils with us but probably didnt need to in the end). The rooms are quite snug" but we had 7 people and never felt too crowded.(They also told us they're currently building a new boat with a rooftop spa!!! Will definitely be checking that one out sometime!)The river is stunning and really peaceful - perfect for some fun and relaxation.We loved using the bbq and table out on the deck for our meals - amazing view! And turning up the outside speakers while taking a dip in the river is pure bliss.A big thanks to the staff as well for being so friendly and helpful! You guys are amazing :D"

We hired the 10 berth houseboat. As you would expect the surrounds were absolutely stunning. I could not fault the very comfortable accommodation and the cleanliness, except for the lack of pillows. (Covid) We were advised to bring our own. My argument is, if they are using their doonas covered by sheets on all beds why couldn't they have 2 sets of pillows. 1 set in use and the other set being sanitised for the next party of people to come on board. At $7,000 for 4 nights surely they could afford the laundry costs.
