INSPIRATIONAL - UPLIFTING - INFORMATIONAL - In today’s day and age of Mental Health Awareness and the hurdles a pilot faces when confronting the unknowns of choosing personnel health over a career as a pilot, Kevin’s story connects the dots. He was phenomenal in connecting with our 18-24 year old pilot group at UND Aerospace. Kevin was a pleasure to work with and the passion he has as an ambassador for an individual’s well-being is undeniable. Kevin's presentation about mental health, and the ramifications on workplaces, had a profound impact on the staff at Hills College. His delivery was meaningful, and the message was one of hope. Mental Health and Staff Welfare are both big, important topics for our organisation, and an area we are willing to invest to keep our people healthy. Kevin Humphreys has a compelling message about the importance of mental health for people of all stations in life. Attendees at the Australian Sugar Milling Council's 2023 sugar industry safety conference held in Townsville in March 2023 were transfixed and positively infuenced through the sharing of his life's experiences and his personal battles to achieve balance and a sense of purpose in his own life. Comments from all 96 delegates at the conference had a common theme of how Kevin's presentation has made them more aware and alert to the discrete signals of mental health challenges for themselves, family and work colleagues.

We invited Kevin to talk to our staff as a way to prepare them for increased workloads, greater customer expectations, home stressors and ensuring they are best positioned for success in their personal and professional lives. A huge task to cover in 90 mins. Kevin had the entire audience on the edge of their seats. To a person, everyone took something away they can do to benefit themselves and their families. Kevin struck a chord on so many levels, regardless of each person's demographic or social standing. His engagement and delivery was perfect - thanks Kevin. The workforce was talking about it for days and we have subsequently instituted a peer wellness support program which is mainly laughter and small actionable items that improve lives on a daily basis. A positive shift in thinking!

Kevin shares a raw and confronting story about his life in the defence force and a resulting battle with mental health. His vulnerability in storytelling is exceptional and the audience is taken on a journey from the grips of his darkest hours, to accepting support and breaking free from the hold of a mental illness. His presentation allows the audience to self-reflect and offers strategies and support for individuals and their loved ones who may be challenged with mental illness. Kevin opens up and shares his story to improve humanity. His regular presentation to our emerging leaders offered a growth and leadership development opportunity like no other.
