Some old lady attempted to up sell me a hat. I went for a cheeper varient but she already put the expensive one in the system. I told her no and then her attitude had been evoked. As i drove off in my car I then noticed that the inķ tag was left on. Just went to anoťher shop. Would not recomend.

Seriously the best surf shop in SA. The owner Paul is a genuinely nice bloke who will recommend products suited to your needs. Loving my new surfboard as it's perfect for my weight and fitness level. The shop expansion also means greater choice of stock which is awesome!

We purchased two new adult size body boards from this store. The staff were friendly and gave good advice on our purchases. The 42” boards were $79 each and each came with an ankle strap. We had been looking at second hand boards, but people were asking $60 to $150 for used boards. The store also sells beach-ware, surfboards and wetsuits.

Small store, humble facade, plenty to like inside. The proprietor is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Always happy to go into the specifics and detail of any surf hardware and wetsuits — the fortunate byproduct of having the store owner on the floor. If your size doesn’t appear to be on the floor, he’ll likely vanish into the back room and appear with what you’re after. After visiting similar shops in the area with mixed results, I always come back to Southern Surf. When you buy from owner run, and operated surf stores you’re always rewarded with knowledge and consistency.
