Early Settler Newcastle

Lovely furniture and homewares with great service from really friendly and helpful staff. Staff took time to gets facts on how the item would weather and wear and what maintenance would be required.

Purchased double bed in late September, told it would be not delivered until beginning of January. Even know 3 plus months to deliver a bed is beyond ridiculous we wanted the bed and agree to the bed coming in early January. Now being the 13th of January I rang to find out what day to expect the bed. Only to be told that we are now looking at another 6 weeks at least. I was told due to Covid, Sorry. COVID has been around for 2 years now. Waiting 5 months for a bed is ridiculous have a better business plan in place. Was after a lounge, dinning table & 2 more beds. Will be taking business else where. Sorry COVID.

Waiting times on website are a flat out lie! their 8 - 9 weeks advertised on their website is actually closer to 4 - 5 Months (and that's if they told me the truth because according to other reviews on here I could be waiting over 1 year...)I ordered various home items at the start of April 2022, in the first week of May I enquired about how much longer until my items would be ready to collect, I was advised that they will not leave the warehouse until at least the end of July 2022!! I was also advised that the items that were available immediately would be held until all items were available to be shipped together. I asked where the items are currently since the company attempted to blame Covid, however I was advised that the items are in Victoria, they are not even overseas. I have ordered various items from other companies at the same time and their items all arrived within 2 weeks (some of which had to come from overseas).I checked their website again and the items I ordered still say that there is an 8 - 9 week wait.. so according to their website they should arrive by end of June (putting aside the fact that I had actually ordered them 1 month prior) so even now their website is still being deceptive and misrepresenting their actual waiting periods. If my items do not arrive by the end of this month (31 May 2022) I will be submitting a consumer complaint to Fair Trading.

Staff here are really friendly and willing to help. Purchased a queen size bed frame early this year and it arrived quickly but assembly was a bit tricky. The furniture range sold here is quite unique and colourful ranging from modern to retro feel. They also sell a large range of outdoor furniture as well.

Professional and delightful lady made it easy. Machines spotless like the rest of the place. Highly recommended

Nice collection in store, staff are courteous and helpful. Realistic delivery timeframes and we found them puntual in delivering the goods. Outdoor range display in store can be increased i guess.

Had the best customer service I’ve probably ever experienced from any retail store. Colin went above and beyond to help me with what i was looking for. Even went as far as calling another store for me and rang me back to pass on information I was looking for. I was honestly taken away by it and havent stopped telling people. Went into the store at the start of February and ordered 2 fans and a clock, I was told the fans would be available at the end of April and the clock would be in sooner as they had stock available at the warehouse. When I followed up at the start of April I was told there were no clocks available and I would not be getting one. I was also told the fans would be another approx 3 month wait. The staff member called around to other stores and was able to locate some fans. They said the fans would be transferred to Melbourne and than to Newcastle which would take 2 weeks. I called in 2 weeks time to be told that the fans had not been delivered to Melbourne but they had been put on the truck the same day. I still don’t have the fans and I’m not sure when or if I will get them. I would not recommended purchasing from this store u less you can get it on the spot.

We have been shopping with this Kotara store for many years.Customer service is always amazing. Any problems after sale, customer service is amazing.I had a squeeky sofa changed, all done in a very professional manner.Staff are always very helpful.Everyone can sell something, but not everyone will provide exceptional customer service after sale.Highly recommend this store.

Received all our furniture damaged , including a bed frame with a giant crack through the centre of the bed head post, big chips in the sides of our tall boy. It’s now been 9 months and we are still waiting for replacement furniture. Disgusting customer service and communication. We are disappointed with this experience and wouldn’t recommend early settler to anyone.
