Picaluna - Beautiful Funerals - Wheeler Heights

After my father's death in February this year, I began the process of arranging his funeral. I hoped for a personal service that reflected who he was and what was important to him and his loved ones. A family friend recommended Picaluna, and I am so happy that I followed that recommendation.Amanda Garland, in particular, was fantastic. In the early stages of sadness and mourning, she eased the planning process by coming to our home (together with a delicious cake she'd made) to meet us and to hear our wishes, and to describe the types of services that Picaluna could arrange. Amanda was professional, compassionate, thoughtful and respectful - we always felt that our wishes had been heard, and where appropriate she provided recommendations based on her obvious wealth of experience. She was always approachable and responsive, which was incredibly important to us during what was already a stressful time.The funeral we planned together was perfect. Dad would have been proud. We engaged Amanda not only to assist with planning but also to act as our celebrant for the funeral itself, and she performed both of these duties impeccably.Pricing was perhaps on the higher end, but I consider it a bargain for the personal and complete service that Picaluna provided. From the initial planning stage, through to interactions with the mortuary and crematorium, arranging the death certificate, directing the funeral itself, and the many other tasks that would never have occurred to me, Amanda (and Picaluna) did a truly fantastic job; I highly recommend them.Thank you, Amanda, for your huge role in designing the perfect funeral for Dad.

Picaluna were so thoughtful, caring and considerate at such a difficult and painful time, in putting together a very special funeral and service for my mother. We worked closely with Amanda who took extra care to curate a beautiful and personal service at North Bondi Surf Club and working with us on Buddhist elements of the service and finding a Buddhist Nun to speak, that made it so unique and created something that just felt like my mum the whole day and I know mum would have absolutely loved every minute.
