SE Qld , New Year, bucket list event. We went, we had a ball, we completely recommend Woodfordia.... but be aware. The festival is either hot and humid or hot and wet, you will need wellies or waterproof shoes, it does get very muddy. The overnight camping is chaotic, crowded and a bit of a mess, there are few vacant camp sits after the first couple of days. The entry procedure is a bit vague: purchase your ticket and vehicle pass before going, there is long queue for on-site purchasing. Everybody has to go through the Eastern Block Carpark Entry, even those heading over to the overnight camping areas. The shuttle bus is very busy, walking over is an option, but only just. Signage generally leans to wards quirky folk festival rather than overly clear. Having said all that we are already thinking about next year.

Absolutely love this festival. Everything is well thought out and effectively delivered. It's always changing and developing and, at the same time, always familiar and welcoming. So much more than great music, there's poetry, circus, dance, comedy, street performers, etc et. and now a lake to swim in.

First time at Woodford folk fest AndLOVED IT THE VIBE FROM EVERYONE WAS AMAZING.The Aboriginal Cultural Performances were Scarce where I thought I would see Aboriginal culture throughout the whole festival instead it was like spot the Aboriginal. The space the Aboriginal people were provided was small and at the other end of the festival. As soon as there is a little rain there’s mud everywhere but that didn’t affect the woodfordia people of having a good time. My advice bring gummy’s (gum boots) or work boots. If you’re not planning on cooking your own food it can be pricey to eat out every night. So Much Delicious and Cultural food it’s hard to just walk past.I WOULD GO AGAIN…

The giants were a favourite. Dispite muddy grounds, the family had fun. We did a craft activity in the children's festival, tried the paella, got henna body art and listened to live music.

My first time, wow what a great experience. Do yourself a favour and book in. Don’t get fooled by the folk festival name, the music and entertainment crosses all genres…so much to do for all ages.

We stayed at Woodfordia for the Easter holidays. Although there was no festival they did have great entertainment each evening, activities for kids throughout the day and of course the beautiful Lake Gkula to swim in. Great place to spend a few days made all the more special by the many volunteers.
