Nathaniel Grey

I’ve had Nathan make a custom double desk for my study and recently a fine slatted timber screen for my Japanese-style bathroom. His workmanship and attention to detail are impressive, and his operating style is collaborative. I absolutely love both items; they both add great ambience to their respective rooms. Really pleased I found a craftsman like Nathan so as to add ‘bespoke’ touches to my home.

I moved into my dream unit in Maroubra in May.22. I was prepared to invest in a custom shelving unit that accommodated and showed off some unique unique antique pieces I have while still being day to day practical. I checked all the usual sites from Ikea, Temple & Webster, custom carpentry and everything in between. Then I tripped across Nathan's site and realised I wasn't the first person that had a clear idea of what I wanted but just couldn't find it out there. We discussed initial ideas by phone, he thought it would be beneficial for him to come round, measure up the space, the pieces I wanted to display and get closer to my vision. End result, is a stunning unit with quality touches and features that make the living area really POP!! I'll put some pictures up in late Sept.22 when the couch arrives (it wouldn't fit in the stairwell on first attempt!!) so you can see the true end result. I personally and professionally genuinely recommend Nathan, his old skool approach and artisan level execution!

I needed a Vanity that was beautiful and custom made to fit in with our new renovation and the space available. Nathaniel Grey's work is not cheap but nor should it be for a real craftsman's work but we are delighted with the finished product. Wish I could share an image for it. Anyway, if you want to support local woodworkers and not have ugly particle board made rubbish then you wont go wrong with NG.

Nathan has made me a total of 5 beautiful bookshelves in Tasmanian blackwood (2 in 2018, and another 3 just now in 2022 to deal with my growing book collection). He is always professional in dealing with enquiries and questions, and took care in working with me to design pieces that match my existing environment and furniture. His craftmanship is superb and my bookshelves are admired by everyone who comes to my house.

We are thrilled with our custom bookshelves and wall unit. Nathan made everything precisely as per our design and with gorgeous Tassie Blackwood, and installed it in our apartment perfectly. He's friendly and has a wonderful eye for detail. You'll be stoked with the results.
