Tinker Tailor

I recently visited Tinker Tailor, Macquarie twice. On both occasions, my experience was marred by an incredibly rude staff member.On my first visit, I arrived at the cafe to find the staff member preparing for the day, seemingly behind schedule. Despite patiently waiting for them to finish their preparations, I was met with rudeness and indifference. Hoping it was just an off day, and my coffee being okay, I decided to give it another go.I encountered the same staff member and requested a very small favour—asking them politely if they could write the name of the pastries on the bag, as I intended it as a gift for a friend and couldn't write on the bag myself once the pastries were in the bag. To my surprise, the request was met with rudeness again, perhaps even a sense of contempt as the names were scrawled on the bag. On both occasions I was the only customer. When I got in the car and took a sip of my coffee, there was no equal despite me asking for it. It is like she just can't be bothered.By the looks of it, the owner does not read the reviews as I see no responses (and this has been raised by others). Given the reputedly good food, I am guessing they probably don't care, but, owner, if you are reading - please know that a customer always votes with their feet.I highly recommend visiting the Divine Café almost next door. They offer equally excellent coffee and their staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. The opposite of Tinker Tailor, Macquarie.

Great coffee, really friendly service and a delicious array of bakery products. The food coming from the kitchen looked DELISH, can’t wait to try some.Well I had the brisket Benny and it was divine. Served on potato rosti and with a killer bearnaise sauce ~ so good!!!!

The place has a limited menu, as you would expect for a place this size, but don't let this fool you.The staff is helpful and polite.The bread and pastries are great, and the plates are surprisingly good.The crispy brisket is an instant favourite, and we'll be back.The coffee gets a 4/5 but I would put the missing star on the account of the beans.Edit: another visit, and not disappointed.Tried the special of the day, Prawn Po'boy. It's hard to handle o ln the sandwich format, but the fork and knife gently served covered for that.

Hands down the best dirty chai I've ever had in Canberra. Friendly staff, efficient service, delicious food. This place is a gem.

Pastries looked lovely (they say there are no preservatives). We stayed for breakfast. Coffee and chai were very good (it was a true chai with heated milk and whole seeds). Breakfast was very good. My haloumi roll was a lovely combination of flavours although it was very messy. My husband's sourdough crumpets were delicious, although they had run out of crumpets and served the dish with sourdough toast... which he claimed was actually excellent. We'll be back!

What a fantastic little find. Sure, the coffee was good but the pastries!!!! The pastries were scrumptious. I also loved the crumpets. Fast, efficient and friendly service. It’s a great added bonus to watch the Chef preparing croissants and pastries. It certainly encouraged me to try more and add some take away

Great coffee, lovely owners and fresh and tasty baked goods! Would recommend to drop by if you are in the area

I have been a regular here for the last 8-10 months. The Bakery goods are great, that's what keeps bringing me back. But unfortunately the staff has recently just not been the same as it was a couple of months back, which was one of the best aspect of the cafe! They're kinda rude and give the impression of not caring for the customers at all. Hopefully, the management looks after it cause I used to love the vibe there.

Excellent cafe bakery under the high rise units at Jamison. By vote, currently the best coffee in Cook-Aranda-Macquarie. Service first rate. Good bread, pattiserie. Outside tables good, limited indoor.

Enjoyed the experience at Tinker Tailor in Macquarie. There are a few excellent café in the Jamison shops and this is definitely one of them. I love their ceramic cups as well, adds a fancy element to the drinks they serve. The chicken curry pie is amazing and I would highly recommend that. Their sausage and egg muffin has two meat patties which is generous and improved the appearance of the muffin. Duck and confit salad was a special on a Saturday and was not too bad either.
