I really wanted to like this place because Corner Pantry in Mt Eliza has been one of my favourites but I’ve now been 5 times and each time I have spoken to them about their food. I have tried multiple different dishes and I’ve yet to have one that doesn’t have an issue. First time was the fritters, they were cold. I mentioned it to them on the way out but didn’t think much of it because it was when they had just opened. The steak sandwich, nothing but rubbery gristle. The fries, soggy. Tried the fritters again and they were so salty that they were inedible.The front of house staff are friendly but back of house staff shouldn’t be serving customers if they can’t offer the same.Two stars for reasonable coffee but will look elsewhere from now on when I want food.

We came looking for Gretel and found that the place is now under new ownership and is called The Corner Pantry.Friendly and helpful staff. Well presented food and good coffee. Give this place a go.
