Great place for a walk or picnic. Can have a swim as well. Probably better not to swim in the winter but it's your choice

Quiet place when I visited tho might be busy on a warmer day. This place is well set up for family day trips, dog walkers, on lead, picnickers. It has very good toilets, BBQ and picnic areas some with shade. A dedicated poll area plus swimming lake with diving boards. As well there's a separate lake area with pontoon for fishing. A path leads around the whole area which is an easy walk with one steeper area so not suitable for wheelchairs, scooters etc.
