Cann River Hotel

We were just passing through, on our way to Melbourne and had to make a pit stop as it was dark. The town was closed pretty much!We found the pub and decided to go for a drink after booking into a drive in motel oppositeWe asked for a couple of pints ( being British) as you do. Got served with a very warm welcome and a friendly chat, and some very good aleWe had missed the food cut off unfortunatelyAfter sitting down and relaxing the landlady came over and offered to cook us weary travellers some chicken satay and rice, which we gladly acceptedThis review is to say a big big thank from the English couple Granville and Rachael who enjoyed your ale,and food and indeed your companyIf you're reading this and wondering if you should visit.....please do you won't regret it

$60 for dinner & 1 drink each. Chips overcooked, 1 slither of tomato & Cucumber! Frozen battered fish! Love Cann River but will definately NOT be eating at the Hotel again. Was a zero beer & about 2 tablespoons of wine!

Graeme and Jodie were the bestest hosts. Great friendly casual pub with a good selection of bistro dishes. Definitely worth a stopover.

Had an excellent evening while visiting family a couple of nights ago. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Warm, welcoming vibe from our hosts and the beer was wonderfully cold and clean. Get behind these guys if you are staying or passing through town.

Went for drinks and dinner! Disappointed is an understatement. Ordered 2 x beers, 1 bottle of wine and 4 x Cowboy shots..... $87 and had to stand at the bar and ask for change of a $100 bill after the ladie continued to serve other patrons, a little giggle from the lady behind the bar and then she handed over the change. Dinner, 2 x serves of spring rolls, 1 x schnitzel with chips and gravy and salt & pepper calamari with chips $58..... calamari was not fresh, processed chicken schnitzel very average and spring rolls overcooked. We will definitely NOT be back. And to watch the lady from behind the bar quieten her dog's with a bit of a boot was not very pleasant to see. Also watching the owner" laugh at a customer's complaint about the food that was served to her was disgusting. I am not bothered about the cost

Wonderful staff and the Chicken Stir Fry was absolutely delicious. Also recommend the Snitzel and Bangers n Mash. Really tasty home cooked feel to the meals. Really accommodating for Gluten allergy. We will be back.

Doesn’t look like the bees knees but I can tell ya right now.. the food is great! Good pub grub on the menu-ya Basics but I went for the chicken stir fry,, wow! Just wow! After a day of riding-kicking back at friendly pub and having this light and very tasty meal-I’m impressed-the flavours better than some of the fancy Chinese Resturants back in Melbourne

Great relaxed atmosphere and good small menu with friendly service. Porterhouse was tough, bur partner loved his parmi.Short walk to the excellent free camp

Just had steak here, it was cooked to perfection. Stop for a meal you will not be disappointed.
