I’m a Cotton Tree local with a strong belief in supporting my local businesses. Since new ownership I put 1 bad meal to teething adjustments. Tonight, again my order was short 1 fillet of fish. As the fillets are only tiny it’s difficult to stretch out the meal.However the group of young people working in the crowded/hot environment were trying no one person seemed to be running the show.I waited for post order rush to calm down before phoning to advise of my “short” order only to have the phone ring out.To the lady that phoned an order at 5 & still waiting at 6.30, I hope they hadn’t sold out of fish & your meal finally came!

Absolutely shocking service I’ve ever had in my life, doors were all open, we wanted fresh fish to stock my freezer about $200 worth for the month, 3 people standing doing nothing 2 owners came out and were so miserable and unfriendly, both said rather rudely, we are not open until 15 mins, i said only want fresh fish to take away, there was the fish just sitting in front of us in the display cabinet, both said no come back. Couldn’t believe our ears what they said , don’t they need the money? The times we live in too? Shocking service won’t return that’s for sure. Although thank fully maybe it was a blessing in disguise, the display door was wide open allowing flys and all of the cold air to come out so it probably would have been kept at a high temperature anyway, so we may have just been saved a rather unpleasant feed.Will never return very disappointed

My family and I were here last weekend. We were very satisfied with both food and service. The staffs were friendly and they cooked the food real fast. Fish and chips were fresh and tasty. We forgot to take photos but strongly recommend this restaurant as a place to visit this summer. Definitely will come back again.

Disappointing at best. Chips were thoroughly overcooked, fish portion size small and overpriced. The calamari was about the only decent thing we ordered. I will never return.

My family has been coming to this fish and chip shop for about 20 years whenever we would come to the coast on holidays (twice per year), because it was arguably the best fish and chips in Queensland. This week we were here only twice, usually we would visit 3-4 times.The first time the chips were so overcooked they were nearly inedible. The fish was barely okay. There was minimal chicken salt even though we asked for extra. Tonight, the fish was mushy. I can get better from the frozen section at Woolies. The chips weren’t cooked properly and had no salt at all on most of them. It appeared to have been dumped on about 5 chips.One bad meal is understandable, it happens. 2 in 1 week is ridiculous. I don’t know if there is new ownership, but we will be finding a new place to eat.

i would rate this joint higher but it only lets me do 5 stars, chips are so crunchy and the fish is fresh. the customer service they showed to me and my family was outstanding. who needs the vaccine when you can eat at suncoast seafoods

It was so nice to have such friendly people at this establishment. They were awesome and went above and beyond with the service. The fish - Delicious, fresh and I enjoyed every morsel of it. We also had crumbed prawns freshly crumbed - divine, melt in your mouth 10/10. We had one piece of flake crumbed and one battered snapper exceptional and cooked to perfection. Thank you we have been around Australia in the last 14 months and your fish & chips are the best we have eaten in a very long time.

So nice to find a seafood cafe which has the option of grilling the fish. We ordered the grilled Barramundi and large chips to go. Both were fresh and well prepared. We decided to have our treat at cotton tree, in the shade of a lovely large tree overlooking the river.
