Mount Rouse Reserve

Spectacular views, easy drive up the volcano, a few viewing spots along the way. Free parking. A lot of steep steps to the top but so worth it.

Great look out. Can see for miles. Easy to access for all. Don't expect to spend more that 30-45mins here.

Scenic paved drive to the top. Short staircase to the summit. Panoramic views. There are also walks that take you to the summit.

It is great. Enjoyed climbing all the way to the top of the tower for the lovely panoramics of the green, quarry industry district. The southern Grampians and Penshurst looks so peaceful, nestled at the base of the north side enclave. A great aspect.

Amazing views from the electric bbq shelter. Even better views from the observation platform at the top. Good toilets. Lots of wildlife. Walk down into the crater is well worth it. And always quiet. The locals are very lucky.

The access to the reserve and the mount are well sign posted right from town. As you enter the reserve there is a parking area for access to the creater that is on the side of the Mount. Next stop is a picnic area that has a toilet and several picnic tables. If you have a caravan or large trailer, best park here. At the top there is a small parking area and if there is another visitor parked there then turning a trailer becomes a challenge. The walk from the picnic area is only another 5 minutes. From the top car park there is a set of steps to a viewing platform and a seat by the side that is a great picnic spot as long as the wind is from the other side of the mount.

Stop halfway up (at the signs) to check out the volcanic crater as there are no views further up. Great views of the surrounding countryside from the lookout at the top

South Western Victoria Australia.The new staircase to the top is a great benefit for people wanting to experience the views after alighting from the vehicle further down the extinct volcano.It can get windy up on top.Watch out for wallabies grazing or jumping on the drive up.
