Nestled on the banks of St George River just beyond the outskirts of Lorne, Allenvale Campground is perfectly positioned to explore the coast and the bush.Allenvale Campground contains 20 walk-in campsites, each accommodating up to six people. All campsites are unpowered and are suitable for tents only. There is no direct vehicle access to the campsites. A carpark is located close by (approximately 230 meters). Campground facilities include non-flush toilets and low tables/seats. There are no fireplaces provided, and fires are not allowed. Please bring your own fuel stove or gas barbeque for cooking. Advanced bookings and payment are required year-round.

Awesome spot just out of town. So beautiful and surrounded by the sound of birds and the flowing creek nearby. Very clean and well looked after spot...the 5 min walk from the car park might deter a few groups and keep it special.

We stayed here for two nights. Campsite is beautiful and peaceful and you can access multiple tracks from here. There is a 230 m walk from the carpark. Also be aware that you can only have one vehicle per campsite. But there is some space for additional cars about further down down the road. There is a drop toilet with toilet paper and a rain water tank which didn't seem drinkable.

Visited at the beginning of rainy winter 2022. Site 1 turned out to be quite sloped. The camp site was otherwise quite ok being only 5 or 10 minutes drive from Lorne main street yet still totally in the bush. Just be aware of the 230m walk from the car park. I brought a beach trolley to cart the gear for my family of four. It was 5 or 6 round trips to set up and then again to pack up. Couldn't imagine doing it without that trolley.

Beautiful spot close to Lorne. Lots of kangaroos, kookaburras, King parrots and cockatoos.I wish we’d brought a trolly to make carrying gear to the site easier as we must’ve walked back and forth about 8-10times. This campground is ideal if you travel light :)

Great camping site close to town. The sites are well spaced out so it never felt crowded even though all sites were booked. It had a clean long drop toilet block and a undercover shelter in the centre of the site.Make sure you pack a beach trolley for the 300m walk from the car park along a well maintained firetrack. Each camp site is made of a pad of very hard clay so pack a hammer and heavy duty tent pegs to make life easy when setting up.My young boys had a blast exploring the area and looking at animals that would wander through.I usually avoid camp grounds where you can't light a fire but I would definitely return to this one.

It is a great camping place as long as you do not mind walking 230m from the car park to camping ground. Getting the things to and back from the camp ground can be exhausting especially if you are visiting with family. Rainwater tank and the toilets are clean and useful. You can also spot some wallabies and different types of parrots while camping. Note that only gas stoves/bbq are allowed here.

It’s a good spot to camp if you are in a pinch. Drop toilets are clean thanks to Parks Victoria and you might find a koala just lurking around on a lazy day. It is also a fair bit of distance from you park, so make sure you the means to cart your belongings back and forth

good environment! cockatoos and budgerigars are often seen. I stayed one night and have seen two koalas,200meters distance from the carpark, the untreated rain water is kind turning black, better bring your own water for use
