Dumpling Flavour
I was after something light and dumplings at @DumplingFlavour123 fitted the bill. I got the lovely xiao long bao and prawn dumplings dipped in soy sauce, vinegar, and chilli oil. Yum!Visited a second time for takeaway and got the following chef's recommend dishes:- Salt & Pepper Tofu - soft and light batter, rich and creamy, would have liked more crunch- Special Fried Rice - pretty tasty- Sauteed Shredded Pork in Sweet Bean Sauce, served with sliced shallot, cucumber, steamed pancake - tender pork with plenty of sauce, roll them in the pancakes for something different- Rainbow Beef - tender with a light crunch from deep frying (can have wok fried too) and had a nice sauce- Peking Duck Roti with shredded cucumber and shallot - pretty tasty and well packed with tense duck and yummy hoison saucePretty good food with nice flavours but expect more from a Chinese food restaurant, a little off the mark. There's a few Asian restaurants on Darby St and surrounds so competition is fierce for patronage and one has to deliver.

The food was very tasty and the service good. The decor was basic but clean. Soft drink and alcoholic drinks were also available. We will return.

Ate outside on the private patio with my doggo, and enjoyed BBQ pork Lotus Cake (bao) with crunchy fresh lettuce and the prawn & pork wontons with spicy chilli peanut sauce. Thanks for the lovely meal and letting me enjoy the meal with my dog

Great lunch stop at Cooks HillWe arrived late and were so relieved to find that the kitchen was still open. It was a cold and windy day, so we had a heartwarming roast duck laksa and green beans with mince. The laksa was delicious and rich and the green beans spicy and fresh. Next time we'll try the house made dumplings that we saw the staff making by hand!!

We had booked elsewhere and it was an hour and half delay. So we looked up and found it. We stood outside for awhile and discussed whether to go in. Nothing to look at but the food was fresh, tasty, a plentiful. The service was quick and friendly. Ordered a glass on white wine and I got a GLASS of wine. Not a bad drop. We were in Newcastle from Brisbane for couple of days see our son who was posted there to do a course. We spent a fortune on meals and wish we had found this place days before. Well worth a trip. Thank you.

Dumpling Flavour
Great food. Loved it. They make the dumplings right there in front of you. We had the chicken and corn and the pork and chive we also had the pork buns. Everything was great. My favourite was the buns. That dough was so soft, pillowy and sweet. I could eat them all day. The service is a bit hit-and-miss. I suppose they focus on the food. They have a few things on the specials board not on the menu too. You can also get frozen dumplings to take away!

Wow, best dumplings in Newcastle. Also very well priced. Service was also very good. Drinks selection could be better. We'll be back though for sure. Thanks guys!

Dumpling Flavour
All the food was delicious. We ordered 2 types of dumplings, two types of spring rolls, beef and cumin roti, san boy Chau (forgot to take a photo) and salt and pepper fish.We had a group of 7 there on Mother’s Day and they gave us complimentary sticky rice sticks! Service was quick and friendly.It’s BYO with only $2 corkage, not a charge per person. Very happy and would recommend Dumpling Flavour.
