We dined on the sidewalk with a tasty barramundi & chips plus a delicious French rose to wash it down. Whilst it had great flavour and was crisp in its frying, the only feedback is that it was priced a little higher thank expected for such a meal at $28 a plate and service was a bit slow, waited to be greater and food took almost an hour. Other than that we had a nice relaxing lunch when the cars went around the corner at the right speed. We also had an awesome view of the boats.

This was previously one of our favourite restaurants. Haven’t been for a while and clearly things have changed. We were looking forward to some beautiful options of fresh and cooked seafood only to be presented with a menu that represented pub food. We ordered some flat bread and hummus then left and went to another restaurant. Very sad that there is no longer the wonderful menu we had experienced in the past. We will not be back.

Wow what’s happened at Sea Vibes?? New owners? Definitely rebranded definitely new menu! Sadly though prices have increase a lot and quality is down just as much.WAS a great little place for a cheeky burger or fish and chips won’t be returning.

We have made it a custom to return to the spot we met on, or close to, the same date every year (pandemics permitting) and repeated this again last night. The venue for this momentous event was called the Manly Fish Cafe back then (Manly being a coastal suburb of Brisbane for anyone reading this who might think the name suggests it was a hang out for big blokes with muscles!) but it was much more than a basic cafe (there was a fish and chips takeaway attached) being more of a small local (and iconic) seafood restaurant with an impressive range of fish and other seafood dishes plus a decent selection of wines, etc. on a nice corner setting opposite the waterfront. It was always popular and reservations were definitely advised. They renovated the place a few years ago and rebranded as Sea Vibes. We felt they lost a bit of an edge when they did this and the menu and service became a bit less than it had been but it wasn't bad and it was 'our place' so we were happy to return and it still seemed to be fairly busy though not as much as previously.Last night was possibly our last visit. Still called Sea Vibes, it has been taken over by the Green Beacon Brewing Company (who themselves were originally a pioneering and innovative Brisbane based craft brewery worth trying a pint at) who in turn are now a small and not really 'craft' cog in the multinational Tokyo based Asahi group machine (revenue over $22 billion a year) along with Carlton and many other brands. Not necessarily a terrible thing in itself as you would think that they would have plenty of funds available to upgrade and improve the venue. Wrong! Some overpaid (I don't know how much they are paid but if they are paid at all it is too much) marketing genius has decided to keep the old Sea Vibes name and layout, add a few beer taps, remove almost all the seafood from the menu and replace most of it with burgers, toasted sandwiches and pizza, reduce table service to ordering at the bar, and replace the wine list with a small 'Not Beer' list. Give me a break!!We decided to stick it out and order the only fishy thing we could see on the menu - barramundi and chips. To be fair it was a very generous portion and nicely cooked (not 100% sure it was barra but whatever it was was tasty) - very enjoyable in fact. But they managed to clutch defeat from the jaws of a semi-victory by serving this in a cheap plastic bowl, lined with thin paper that disintegrated and stuck to the fish. Oh dear.Still, if it pulls the punters in and makes a buck for Green Beacon and Asahi perhaps it is worth it for them. Wrong again - in the hour we were there (Thursday night from about 7.15) we were the ONLY customers for either sit down or takeaway as the three staff on duty, who were very friendly and trying to remain positive, went about getting ready to close up for the night. We may possibly check them out again next year and fully expect things to be different (surely!) as this just isn't working. If not we will walk on by.

Just ordered a serve of Calamari for $16.00 got home 5 rings of calamari are you kidding me, I at least thought for $16.00 you would get some chips with that NOPE absolute RIP OFF 5 rings and a little sauce for $16.00 and it didn't even taste that good (very oily).I for one would not recommend or will be giving this establishment my hard earned money ever again,Think twice before you do.

Had a positive experience here. View of the Marina was great. We went when the Sunday markets were on so quite busy. Ordered the Works breakfast and my wife ordered eggs Benedict. Delicious meals and hot drinks for just over $50. Great place.
