I've been lucky enough to have photographed a bunch of weddings at Tocal Homestead and I just love it. It is a really beautiful place, from the historic houses and structures, the giant fig trees to the epic farmland. It has everything you want in a Hunter Valley wedding venue. One of my favourite places and to shoot wedding at.

Having photographed many weddings at Tocal Homestead over the past 8-10 years, it has become one of my favourite country venues. The massive property, with homestead, the barracks onsite accommodation, the barn & many other buildings provide plenty of spots for photos on your wedding day.Tocal Homestead is a venue that needs to be on your shortlist when you start planning your wedding!

Went to 'Peek into the Past' held here today and really enjoyed it. Had a great variety of things to see including a fashion show, music, farm animals, machinery and more. The Ploughman's Lunchbox and Devonshire tea was delicious as well. The highlight for me was watching the battle re-enactment. Great day for the family.

A wonderful spot in the beautiful country side. Attended a wedding here and it was one of the best weddings I have been to. Ceremony was jeld outsode with horses roamomg around in the back ground. We the had time to wonder the homestead. What an amazing piece of history. All the out building are maintained in there original form and really add the to beauty of the homestead. The recption hall is great. 2 levels so there is plenty of space for everything. Food was very nice too amd not your standard wedding choices. A faultless wedding venue.

We had our wedding at Tocal Homestead in April and we couldn't have chosen a better venue. It was everything that we wanted - a stunning outdoor ceremony location, a beautifully renovated barn for the reception, gorgeous grounds for photos and the perfect atmosphere - calm and relaxed but with the air of something very special. It was a magical day.Sprout Catering ran a seamless day - not a thing went wrong. They looked after the bridal party during canapés and photos - always ensuring that we had food and drink in hand, everything ran perfectly on time and the canapés and food at the reception was flawless. We had the banquet (shared plate) option and there was an abundance of delicious food. Nobody went home hungry (in fact, everyone went home very full) and many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had eaten. We also had the pleasure of staying at The Barracks. The groom and groomsmen stayed the night before and we spent our wedding night there. The rooms are lovely - as a History teacher, I really appreciated the plaques explaining the history of the place, the fireplace was cosy and the beds super comfortable. The staff are all wonderfully helpful as well - really easy to organise with in the lead-up and very willing to help during our stay.

Amazing and well preserved. Worth a few hours to walk around and admire the buildings and large amount of period pieces kept at the homestead. Some of the areas were locked due to needing some maintenance but most open. Beautiful area. Can purchase some scones and drinks at the entry. Friendly staff/volunteers.Modern, hand held speaker for the self guided tour was great!

One of Hunter Valley’s best kept secrets. We stayed at the nearby barracks so didn’t have to pay entry. Usually entry is $10 for above 15 year olds which is great value. Great place to spend an hour and soak up some history and nostalgia. Staff is very friendly (like almost everyone in the Hunter!) and very knowledgeable about the local history. On the tour you get these cool audio devices where you input a number that corresponds to one of the many sights and it gives your a great audio description. Highlights for me were the vintage Rolls Royce and the amazing garden overlooking the creek.

Thank you for a beautiful weekend away. We have stayed with you a couple of times now and each has been so gorgeous, peaceful and special. The accommodation is clean, fresh and cosy. Breakfast & the cheese platter and champagne a lovely addition and the grounds and animals are divine. Harry is our favourite. Thank you again, Steve & Laura

As a photographer, Tocal is always one of my favourite locations to visit. Couples can have the ceremony, photos + reception all on site, as well as having accommodation onsite and plenty more nearby. The grounds are gorgeous for photos and always has a beautiful angle for the sunset. The many barns, sheds + verandahs provide plenty of undercover areas if it's a rainy day. Combined with the superb catering & service from the team, it's hard to find anything to complain about!
