As far as I know Peppers has the only dining options in Cradle Mountain National Park and this probably explains how the tavern can be almost full on the day we visited for lunch. The food was tasteless and overpriced and the ingredients that sound enticing on the menu are barely present. Plus, on a freezing, wet, windy winter day it was COLD inside, despite the fireplace. Would not recommend or return.

Fantastic venue. We booked for 2 nights & didn’t want to leave, so we booked for a third. One thing we would do if going again is do a little supermarket shop before heading up the mountain as there is nothing else available other than the tavern & restaurant at the lodge - which are great but expensive. The rooms are clean and cosy. Beds are comfy. General environment is ‘enchanting’. We loved it.

Highly disappointed with the experience.Being loyal to direct reservation without using third party agencies we were charged much more and staff still argued the fact that they cannot help to match pricing because they use call centres to make reservations which charge the hotel 20% of the feel the customer pays. With all this reception staff showed clearly to be annoyed at us for even asking for price match.Key issue here is that the rates for the most standard room ($479) did not match the quality of the rooms that are actually provided. This is a rate you’d expect from a 5* hotel with excellent service and hospitality to customer that drive almost 5h to be accommodated. Room facilities are horrible and not worth your standard $200 rate little alone almost $500.Restaurant staff were all very young and inexperienced and the food seemed as “fine dining” was definitely only considered as such for its presentation, however the food it self was unacceptable. Who wants to be served a cold tough steak after such a long drive in the cold and rain at a premium hated chef restaurant price!?The Lodge is in a beautiful and convenient location to National Park, but overall not worth the money. I definitely regret having stayed at this hotel and didn’t enjoy my stay at all.Very disappointing.

We only went to the restaurant so cannot comment on anything else except that it us in a great location k lyrics walking distance to the Cradle mountain park hq.The meal we had was tasty enough but a bit to sparse and some of the flavors were an interesting mix.The service was effective but not over friendly. The open fire was inviting but that is were the atmosphere started and finished.

The common area was great with many fireplaces. It is next to the entrance of the national park and where a few walking tracks start. Great location. Our room was basic but it was warm and comfy. The view was outstanding.

Got married here;- Staff were amazing- Accommodation was amazing- Food was amazing- The atmosphere was something you could not describe.Throughout our experience at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge, it was a relaxed dreamlike state. I never wanted it to end, and I am forever wanting to return. We will eventually come back and I have no doubt that it will be just as I remembered.

The pencil pine cabins in the wilderness are a must. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant was exceptional. There is so much to see and do here. Nice walks. Resident wombats and wallabies are nice to come across. Short trip to the visitor information centre to get the shuttle bus to Dove Lake. Just love everything about Cradle Mountain ❤️

The room wasn't ready on arrival and the receptionist had no clue when it would be.When we eventually got to the room it was a poor representation of the online photos and we were disappointed. We felt it was a rip off for what we were getting. The window would not open which was a fire hazard. After we called reception, we were told that a handy man would come and look at the window, which is exactly what you want on holiday! Random men in your room.We decided it was not acceptable and went back to reception and requested the manager. After much debate he said he'd move us to another similiar room which I was not happy with, given more than 2 hours had passed and we still weren't in a room. After coaching him further that we should be compensated, he said he'd upgrade us, which we agreed to.It left a bad taste in our mouth, because the service was poor from start to finish. One positive was the breakfast was exceptional but I'd still give 1 star based on the stress and overall customer service experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and for the prices the accommodation is poor quality and a rip off.

The Lodge & gift shop are worthy of a special mention and the outdoor views are incredible. The cabin we stayed at on the hill was totally awesome , fully compliant & furnished nicely . The outdoor deck gives a great view of the bush land that is teeming with wild life from wombats , possums and native bird life .Washing amenities are close by & stocked with industrial sized machines & clothes dryers . Breakfast is awesome back at the Lodge contemplating what’s to do today apart from long walks on the trails & retiring to the cabin spa upon return.5 stars for sure and thoroughly recommended by JT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
