Very disappointing chilli margartia. Which is surprising considering its a Mexican placeIt won't allow me to post a photo but it was an entire bag of chilli seeds in our drinks and that was it. 0 flavourFar too many chilli seeds

UNHAPPY ☹️ Booked two weeks in advance for a “Sunday Session”as advertised. Booked the couch as I have a serious back issue.Sunday sessions advertise special priced Margaritas and food specials. After one margarita we were informed they had run out and would not be offering more. We ordered food which was good but then we were advised that our seats were booked for another function??? A birthday party that had booked the entire area. That we had 20 mins to move seats or leave. When I questioned about my booking and that I had not been advised a one and half hour limit they girl just shrugged her shoulders and said she could give me a pillow to lean against the wall! I know there was no prior booking because when I booked I was given a choice of ANY time on the couches due to there being No Other Bookings. Very disappointed and let down. Especially with the service and attitude we received. Well done in ruining a rare opportunity for my friend and I to catch up.

The food is fresh modern yummy sharey kinda Mexican, I'm hooked on this alone, but the vibe is so good, pick me up place after a hard week, I wish you were open more days!!!

I was expecting great things from La Canteena but was slightly disappointed.The food is great and well proportioned, it just takes 35-40 mins for the order to arrive at the table. The wait time gave us a chance to enjoy some of the cocktails but even these were only average.....they had all the hallmarks of a good cocktail but the taste was not balanced.On a positive note the $10 Frozen Margarita and share pizzas are a win

This place is a hidden gem. Literally! If you're wandering around Ocean street looking for a nice place to eat, don't just rely on the overhanging signs outside all the bars/cafes etc. Walk all the way up and down the paths as you might miss La Canteena! Beautiful tacos to eat including dessert-style tacos and soft shell crab tacos! Ordering is easy as you just do it via a tablet which sends the order to the kitchen. Sit and wait for your meal and drinks to arrive and enjoy. Very interesting little alleyway setting as well. Definitely recommended for lunch, dinner or just some cocktails.

Some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Staff were really lovely too and the atmosphere was perfect.

We ordered the nachos and it was by far the best ones we’ve had yet. All of the ingredients were high quality, the chips were hand made and the cheese sauce was to die for. The service was also great! I would highly recommend this place.
