I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I still remember August 2016, I had just received the news that my visa was going to be canceled and I had 28 days to respond before having to leave the country. I went online to search for immigration services and AMCS were the first result on the page, I called them and booked an appointment for a consultation. I was asked to write down the circumstances including a chronological summary of my visa status up to that point and bring that with me.I had a friend come with me for support. We sat and waited for our turn, we were then directed to an office just behind the reception and waited for the lawyer to come in. When he arrived I had all my documents ready and even a notepad. We proceeded to discuss the reason for the consultation, I spoke, I showed documents I which was asked to bring in, gave the timeline with detailed descriptions and my friend was sitting next to me listening.The whole time, the lawyer was sitting back on his chair, his leg crossed over, and his arms stretched out so that his hands were sitting on his knee. Not writing down any notes, or seeming interested. When he did talk, it was with a certain..”air-to-himself”.. for lack of better words. He let me know that he could take on the case but that someone else would be handling it and started telling me about the costs. This is during my consultation that I was being charged for. I wasn’t consulting about their other services. I needed guidance which I wasn’t getting. After some time, I stopped talking and I said to him..“So you’ll take the case because you think I can win this? Will it be worth it or is it just a matter of me paying all this money but you just see no avenue for me”? And then I pointed it out to him that he was sitting back, relaxed not even taking notes or giving me anything to go by. At this point he sat up and seemed a little more serious and kinda gave me a few pointers but then still telling me about their different terms of agreement if I went with them. But by this time I had lost all confidence. My friend started asking questions that would help me and now it felt like we were getting something back.Needless to say, I didn’t go back there. My spirit was crushed at how unimportant my situation seemed to him. The next day I went to a different firm and the service was the exact opposite of what I got from AMCS. I had 3 different lawyers NOT FROM AMSC in the consultation room, one of them a named partner. They sat down with me and strategised to give me different options and all of this for the price of one consultation fee - which by the way was cheaper than what I paid the previous day. I went away feeling equipped to handle it on my own but because of their studiousness, I felt encouraged to let them lodge my response. It was very successful. I went back there for my subsequent visas and now after all this time, I just got my citizenship.I don’t know what the service is like now, but in August 2016, AMSC lacked compassion, diligence and customer service when dealing with me and I never forget how insignificant I felt sitting there explaining my story. Still I was pleasantly surprised to find that not all firms are like that.
