An amazing experience picking up our first family pet. Jackie was fabulous to deal with, knew her stuff and passed on valuable information to care for our new pet….a beautiful Mini Lop rabbit. Some pet shops get a bad rap but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how caring and knowledgeable all the staff were. They really love their jobs!

Incredible shop with smart and pleasant staff which is always ready to help you with any inquiry. Lots of toys, food, accessories and clothes for pets. Different species like hermit crabs, red fish, parrots are present at the shop. There’s also a service for rescue kittens, so you can save and help a kitty find its sweet home.PS awesome distraction for a toddler))) my baby can spend half an hour there...

After visiting several pet stores, we randomly walked into Animalia in Hurstville and were greeted by Maria. I can honestly say that Maria was the loveliest, kind-hearted, genuine person we have come across… someone who truly cares. As first-time pet owners (Scottish Fold), we were still learning and discovering the best ways to care for our kitten. So we're still very green on many things. Maria (who is very knowledgeable and owns many cats of her own) spent so much time with us, giving us 'gold' advice on caring for our kitten and recommendations from vets to pet insurance…. tips and tricks on washing and things to look out for… Maria even took the time to clean out our kitten's ears and give him his first tablet.Maria, we thank you for your kindness. This is the kind of customer service that is priceless.

If I can rate the customer service-100 I would.I went in today 28/02/23 and I was looking at the kitties that’s in the cage at the back. I asked one of the ladies there “Do you work here” and her response was “I wouldn’t be cleaning fish tanks if I wasn’t” then I asked her “is that a ragdoll in the first cage” In all dryness her response was “yes” I wanted to know more about this ragdoll as my ragdoll passed away in a car incident & I told her “my ragdoll passed away few days ago “ didn’t even let me finish and goes to me “I have staff I need to assist” then walked away.Ummm like why so rude??? I wanted to know more about this ragdoll and you treat people like this? If you don’t like your job then leave it. No one is forcing you to stay. I wanted to chat about my ragdoll & see if I can find a ragdoll similar to mine as he meant the world to me. And I wanted to purchase one as wellShe was rude from the very beginning. If you don’t like your job then quit it. Don’t come to your job treating people as if they’re below you especially your customers.

The French Bulldog currently in store is underweight and distressed . The ridiculous asking price will only prevent any chance it has from escaping its current surroundings*** we were told he was 14 weeks old when we called on the 10th FebI am well aware of what reputable breeders are charging for Frenchies at present , it’s great you realise there’s an issue and are looking at improving your facility , however this one will just suffer in the mean time ..

I bought a puppy from here the service was excellent however I am really upset that I was not sold what I thought. I was told she was a cross pug/boston terrier,so the paper work states.I cannot see any Boston Terrier at all Animalia, staffy yes! This is false advertising and have lost faith in this place.Beware buyers.

Animalia is a wonderful place for pets to await their new homes.Myself and my partner and daughter , we adopted a baby English Staffy from Animalia 14 years ago, since then we have always popped in to say a hello. Maria the owner and her staff are so pleasant and always willing to help.

The pet store is decent and offers decent supplies for animal care. But unfortunately I do believe the dogs are backyard bred. I once asked one of the workers if the dogs were offered pedigree and the reply was “We sell them as pets and not for breeding”. Ethical breeders should provide pedigree not just for breeding rights but also for indication the pup is purebred. Also charging a significant amount of money for a mixed breed isn’t ideal either as ethical breeders would not sell mutts or breed mutts either.
