As someone from Somerset, UK, I was very impressed with the traditional styles of the cider. Absolutely delicious and great variety too. Staff were friendly and helpful too ... Just don't tell them that their cider is a steal at the prices!

Beautiful family run spot to enjoy a slow lunch in the country. I went with my family last weekend and we enjoyed pot pies and a ploughman’s lunch, so nice! We sat outside in the winters sun and enjoyed a few glasses of cider. Definitely recommend this place for a cruisy Sunday jaunt!

This is a perfect spot for a relaxing Sunday lunch, accompanied by traditional cider. The food is delicious, fresh, and often locally sourced. The artisanal cider is made on-site with traditional methods and from a variety of local apples. There are a range of juices and homemade preserves as well. A great, family friendly eatery with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating (enjoy the picturesque countryside in Reidsdale!).

Love this place. Traditional ciders, not the sickly sweet commercial stuff. Great people. Finding species of apples in the region that were thought not to exist in Australia and some that have become extinct in Europe. Nice preserves too. Have some cider and a ploughman's lunch, or a coffee and cake. A nice stop when taking a drive around historic Braidwood.

We visited this place several times while staying in the Reidsdale area - DELICIOUS homemade food and small batch cider! They’re always putting out new ciders since everything is small batch from apples that were brought over from europe by the original property owners. Also the food is to die for, everything is made there - often from food grown on the property. Very kid friendly as well as they have delicious non-alcoholic sodas and apple juice! They’re generally only open to visit on Sundays from 11-4 (I’d ring and ask though)

If you’re riding from Canberra to the coast, make sure to go to Smokey Dan’s and order a beast burger. Be careful along majors creek mountain road because it has had a few landslides and technically it’s closed, so you’re not supposed to be going down it, but just lift your bike over the fence and you should be fine. For the araluen road portion I would recommend a mountain bike, or at least a bike with suspension and good brakes. The road does get quite rough and rocky in sections and that will take its toll on your hands. Sections of araluen road used to be closed due to more landslides last year, but I’m not sure if they still are, so maybe check that online before you leave. Nutrition-wise, you’ll want to aim for at least 60g of carbohydrates per hour, for which I’d recommend staminade, since it also hydrates you without the need for water.
