Calvary Health Care - Melbourne Office

Having just visited my 91 year old mother in Brighton aged Care in S.A., I was very disappointed with a memo that was issued from Melbourne Headquarters in relation to not giving the Residents a jug of water during the day. They are given a glass of water and when that is empty they call the Carer for another drink. The Carers are busy enough now without a stupid Memo being written by some non caring office person. Surely it should be up to the Manager of the particular aged care facility to know who is suffering from dementia and who could tip the jug of water out, or on themselves. A jug of water costs nothing from the budget so for heavens sake wake up office people and stop making waves over something so trivial. At $118-00 a day residents should have some say in what they request.

Avoid!!! Japara does not care about the residents needs, it just focuses on it's ability to please & line the share holders pockets. We found they are currently cutting back their staff numbers which were already stretched to the max & we are very concerned for our & all families who have a loved one there. Considering what you pay per year, you would expect a lot more from them!!!

Admin staff very unprofessional and had no idea on how to deal with The General Public when dealing with Covid Restrictions. You are virtually on your own when attempting to sign in just to visit family members.

I have noticed a definite decline in staffing. However, I am extremely angry at being charged an Additional Services Fee (which we knowingly signed up for on our mother entering the facility believing it was mandatory) actually expecting some extra care or services. Our mother has never gotten a daily newspaper, used the internet or enjoyed wine with meals.This has cost over $30000 over 4 + years and all that I can see for that money has been $50 per month of hairdressing. Even this benefit has been mostly unavailable for most of 2010/21.I am currently awaiting a response to an email requesting a discussion on this matter. Seems that profit taking and fees for no actual service are more important than ethical business practices. I have cancelled this charge, but feel that it ought to be reviewed with family regularly.Have been in contact with Japara management regarding my concerns.Have been pleasantly surprised by the helpful and prompt response and actions taken by them.

I was a truck driver, but i have 17 years Food & Beverage experience and besides that i love to do charity or contribute something to the community.I meet up with someone special at job fair recently. Ms. Kavya ( Talent Coordinator ) she shows me the way to contribute to the community.
