I ordered a curtain from Voila Voile for our house in the bush - the front door gets hot and glary in summer but we didnt want to have to install a blockout curtain which would also block out the winter sun. We chose a leafy patterned fabric after inspecting three free fabric swatches. Once installed the curtain revolutionised this tricky spot, allowing dappled light through, but helping cut the heat and glare.The leafy pattern works perfectly in our bushland setting – it feels like we are at one with the bush, rather than having a block on our view.I made another smaller curtain for the kitchen window with the same fabric, purchased from Voila Voile, and I now truly appreciate the art of sewing this fabric. What slippery stuff it is! I would highly recommend that you let the experts do what they do so well, rather than trying to sew yourself.The free swatches are a great service and the curtain was made beautfully.
