Wyong Olympic Pool
Closed at 4pm on a 40 degrees summer day. No signs up at pool or changed hours on google. Only read it on Facebook (had to like" the page to even read it) AFTER turning up to a closed pool. Not very smart to close at 4pm when every day this week has tops of 40 degrees !"

Has not changed a lot in the 40 years I have been coming here except the removal of the high diving boards. Staff always seem happy when I have been there and usually pretty clean but it could really use some more under cover areas and seating for family’s to enjoy and have picnics on. Adding a couple of slides would attract more people, otherwise great place to go on these hot summer days.

A great pool. Has a shaded BBQ area near the toddler pool, but only other shade is the grandstand. It has a canteen that sells pies & sausage rolls for hot food. Well stocked with drinks, chips, lollies etc. An enjoyable day out with the kids, and good pricing for entry.

Lovely area, got shaded area for spectators. There are life guards on duty.Apparently can even bring flotation devices with you, or pool noodles. We went at around 4pm in the afternoon and there were few people there. So i would imagine it gets packed during the day. There is a shaded toddlers pool area which is probably a god send in this heat. There is a lovely lawn, so some people were having a bit of a picnic there. The only thing that put me off - i wasn't swimming but still got charged a spectator fees.A bit unfair i think...other than that it is a little gem.

Wyong pool is an underrated gem. There's nothing like a classic outdoor Olympic pool, and this one is clean, in excellent condition and perfect for lap swimming in all weather, but especially on a sunny day. The 11 foot 6 inch deep end, a throwback to the days of diving boards, means you can actually dive here outside race events, unlike most newer pools, which tend to be much shallower. This is a serious swimmer's pool, IF you can get unfettered access to it. The three lanes typically reserved for lap swimming lanes aren't really enough. Four would be better. The only major problem I have with this pool is convenient access and availability. Bookings for carnivals, parties etc. are common. This is not a place at which you can simply turn up at any time and expect to actually have a swim, unless you get there very early. They probably need the revenue from bookings to keep the place open, but if you are a busy person with limited time for a swim, you may find many opportunities are lost owing to either half or all of the pool being booked out. Saturday mornings are often a write-off for several hours due to water polo, if you really need the full 50 metres like me. The 25 metre partitions are often put in place well before the time of the booking, too. February and March have a lot of bookings for school swimming carnivals. These lost opportunities eat into the value of using memberships/Fitness Passport etc. for regular access (I'm considering cancelling my FP for that reason). And soon after all the carnivals are over, the pool is closed again until October. It feels like it's over again before it even began. In conclusion, while the pool itself is fantastic and one of the best 50 metre pools around, actually getting a swim in it can be challenging unless you can always rock up as soon as it opens in the morning.

Great local pool. Always clean and tidy. Under cover kids pool for the little ones. Undercover bbq facilities available. Can be busy with locals but still big enough to accommodate everyone . Indoor pool available for swimming lessons. Has shaded areas in grandstand and heaps of grass for the kids to play on. Has canteen for snacks and drinks also. Could use a freshen up as its getting a bit tired.
