Midway Cakes

Zero star, when I ordered coffee and banana bread there was no one at the shop, then two other customers came after me, they served them first just because they were regular customers then I got my coffee. Bad service, over priced. I would never recommend anyone to go here especially trades.

NOT FRESH. Use to go here years ago and stopped going because it was so random knowing whether you would get fresh cakes/pies. Went back again a couple of weeks ago and potato pie was good. Today, bought 2 potato pies and so disappointed as they are definitely from yesterday. You can tell when potato has been reheated several times. Disgusting only to be thrown out. Now I remember why I stopped going. Won't be back

$7.2 for a gravy pie with 3 or 4 tiny pieces of mushroom. It was meant to be a steak and mushroom. Couldn't find any steak - there was a bit of mince floating around in the gravy. And it was so small. The foil tray was so shallow and the base was half the diameter of the top. No wonder the lady asked me 'how many would you like' when I asked!

I can't believe how petty and ridiculous some of the other reviews are for this bakery. Anyway my review is just for their Sausage Rolls and Pies. I'm generally disappointed with most pies these days and it seems like the great Aussie meat pie is loosing its appeal. I bought a plain, chilli, curry and mushroom pie from here to shout lunch for my dad and brother who were helping me do some work at my place. Everyone was impressed by how good they were. Pastry was crispy and light, fillings were very generous with no grizzly bits. Sausage rolls are pretty good too but I'll be going back for the Pies which I found very tasty. My wife mainly goes here for the cakes which she seems to like but I think she will be a pie convert once she tries one.

The cakes are amazing especially the cherry pie. A little pricey but most quality cakes are nowadays. Treat yourself but skip the coffee. There’s better coffee around.

This is a great local. The cakes and pastries are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Especially their muffins and the apricot Danish, you can’t argue with those. Support local!

Midway Cakes is a fantastic shop, the service at this place is amazing. The staff each desire to know you by name and are very thoughtful and fun. Each of them go above and beyond what is asked of them, each trying hard to make you feel important while taking care of you. The pastas in combination with the garlic bread are phenomenal thanks to Max. Max knows your order before you pay and always greets you warmly. Victoria is lovely, she is very welcoming and greets you with a smile underneath her mask. Tip, is so kind. Tip always knows what your order is before walking in. Rosabella is wonderful, she is warm-hearted and thoughtful. I'm still learning all the names of the staff, but I always look forward to joining them for a laugh, a coffee and some delicious lunch whenever I get the chance. COVID has hit us hard, but this small community of warm, inviting and kind people is vitally important.

Okay so they are on the pricier end of the scale just to be upfront. Products are great, but maybe not great enough to justify the price.Their chilli beef pies are amazing though, but are constantly sold out.

No prices on anything and I was surprised to be charged $9.20 for a custard tart and a cheese & bacon roll. That seems quite pricey for a bakery! Not sure I’ll be rushing back.
