This was my first time there and first impressions make or break the experience.. I wouldn't recommend going there nor would I come back, which is a shame as it could be really good. The venue itself is quite nice and family friendly, but that's where it stops. The food was poor, flavorless and either undercooked or overcooked. The prices for the quality of food is not worth it. The staff didn't feel welcoming except for the lady making coffee. Sat there for about 15 minutes without so much as a greeting, no cutlery, no water.. nothing. It felt as if we were forgotten or didn't exist. Not sure if there is table service, no signage or indication that you had to order at the counter, which is what we did. The food was served, still no cutlery, which could clearly be seen... Had to get up and grab our own.Overall, a very poor experience

The Farmer's Place has been renamed to The Common Ground Project and is under new management. The place has been redecorated and is now much nicer .The food and coffee has also been much improved. The outside area has also been cleaned up, and is now kid friendly. For more information, see their Instagram page.

The smoothies are well worth stopping for great spot to let the kids have a run.

Very unassuming place. Looks like a farm shack from the main road. However inside has been refurbished to be a vibrant cafe, but still fitting in with the theme of a farmhouse. There is a large selection of breakfast and lunch dishes on the menu, as well as a kids menu. The meals are creative and generous. Coffee is good. There is a great view of the farm outside as well as outdoor seating. There are vegetable gardens, children’s sandpit and animals in close proximity. Great to stroll around before or after your meal. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.

Good experience- lovely staff- food was ok. Good idea but the execution is a little muddled.

Now thats hospitality, greeted by a friendly smile and offered coffees to start, sitting amongst the veggie patch watching the chickens and goats. A great sample of bellarine produce!!! Love it

We came here for breakfast over the weekend and found it really good. There's animals outside to look at, a kids area inside (and sand area outside) for them to play in, and plenty of seating area. The food was tasty and services was relatively quick. On the weekends there's a 10% surcharge, so it can make the meal a little pricey. BYO straws.

Went for brunch and l loved it. Good fresh juice, smoothies, great coffee and fabulous food. Their granola was excellent and not too sweet, my husband had the brekky roll and really enjoyed it. Bread was baked locally too. Really loved the gardens, the goats and the roosters too. Will come back for dinner when next in geelong
