Fishermans Haul
It would be easier to drink a bottle of oilWe purchased two grilled barramundi and medium chips from Fisherman’s Haul on 25.11.22 at around 6:30pm. The fish was around $12-13 per piece. We paid around $32.50 for the meal. Normally I do not write reviews; however, the food was so terrible I felt I should warn people.I could live with the thin sliver of fish (about 4mm) which was quite well cooked; albeit, a little watery. We ate it first thinking that we would get it out of the way and the chips would make up for it. We opened the chips… in the half-light of the car they looked good (we were travelling). They were a nice golden colour and plump looking.I bit into my first one. It was hard and hollow: pure solid oil. I tried another. Same. I noticed that these ones were a little darker than the others. After trying a few more, I pulled aside 2/3 of the chips that were hard and hollow. Now these are not like the yummy little crunchy chips you get intermingled with the larger chips, these are full sized chips that were hard and hollow. They were inedible. So that left us 1/3. Of those, I ate about 6 that were okay, the rest were leaking oil and just revolting to eat. We both felt ill after eating these chips. With every breath for the next couple of hours, I could taste oil.We both agreed that they should provide a tongue scraper with the cutlery, that’s how greasy it was.Food aside, one of the ladies cooking, picked items up off the floor then put her hands into the trash bin to rearrange it a little, then resumed cooking without washing her hands.Would not recommend at all and am left wondering how hundreds of people gave them 4.4 stars. Perhaps it was a bad food day.

BEST FISH AND CHIPS EVER!! Being from Canberra, a good takeaway is hard to find down there but Fisherman's Haul goes beyond expectations! Had to go twice and will most likely be back again before my trip ends

Apparently this is a “medium chips” with an extra serving of “small chips” just looks like a half arsed scoop to me, all for a whopping $33 without the drinks. $7 for a large gravy? ya kidding me.Service wasn’t good either lady didn’t seem to care, no manners at all. Maybe having a bad day? Will be going to Gympie fish and chips from now on way better.

Got a takeaway lunch and it was ok. Seemed a little expensive for the quality. 50/50 whether I go back again.Whilst waiting for my order, one gentleman walked in, waited for several minutes and walked out as he was not served. He wasn’t a happy customer

I m gonna try this place again and again. It was worth a wait for the food. The fish was yummy with some added calamari sticks. Squeezing the lime made it just more tastier. It is a local shop so don't expect fancy plating. I loved the food here. The service is also amazing. It is worth to wait actually. I had to wait almost 15 minutes outside but the fish was superb. No complaints at all.

Thanks guys for the seafood platter you did for my Mum's 80th Birthday. She absolutely loved it, the seafood was beautiful. A big shout out for the special delivery too.
