Whitelakes Brewing
Sat down with a pint then went to order food with our second drink and was told the kitchen closed at 5pm... why on earth would the kitchen close at that time on a Saturday? Very odd. We were told the other side was open until 8pm but that's all indoors and the sun was shining so we wanted to sit outside... ended up going elsewhere. Just seems crazy that the kitchen would close that early on such a nice Saturday night.

We have enjoyed the food and drinks at Whitelakes Brewing. It was nice to try a few beers to see which ones we like, before having to order. Not sure about all the 1 star comments regarding bad food , as we really enjoyed our dinner here especially the Alabama Wings. It is a great location with easy access from the main road. Ample parking space available for both the Brewery and Tavern. Only wish small dogs were allowed outside , perhaps on the grass section. And that they are open until later. Understand this is to do with licenses but perhaps something to consider for the future. And maybe add a few more smaller tables for small groups at the deck area.Definitely will be back with my family!

Whitelakes is a very pleasant adventure for us. We love the drive from Safety Bay along the salt lakes to Whitelakes. The brewery is adjacent to the Vernon Arms and can cause some confusion on arrival. Facility is very modern with a commercial brewery vibe. All seating is outside and mostly covered with a view of the lakes. Not necessarily family friendly. The only play area for kids is a grassy area used for overflow parking below the brewery. Menu has a bias towards adult tastes and adult portions. Food quality is excellent and mostly barbecued and reasonably priced. Beers and ciders on tap. We love it!Update: 12.08.22: We came to Whitelakes on Easter Sunday. The kitchen was closed because the staff was sick due to COVID. We gave them a pass and went somewhere else. Today (12.08.22) we arrived on an unusually warm Friday at 1:00pm. The door was open but the place was vacant. Someone greeted us at the door and explained there was no manager nor kitchen staff on site. The facility is only open during the winter on Saturdays and Sundays. Summer hours they will be open Tuesday through Sunday.

This place has so much potential. Great location, atmosphere and space for kids to run around and play. Unfortunately it took over an hour for our food to come out and when it arrived, it was very average. What really upset us were the people who ordered just ahead of us had already received their order and left by the time ours arrived and another couple who had shortly arrived received their food also before us. Clearly there’s a lack of direction in the kitchen which sadly put a very sour taste in our mouth. I would like to come back another time but I think I’ll wait until a new chef has been appointed.

Excellent food, beer and service. Looks like they've just brought out a new menu. Highly recommend the curried croc sliders and smoked kangaroo croquettes

Dropped in here for sunday lunch with family. We met a very dismissive waitress who told us to look for a table ourselves. She complained she was too busy to help us. All tables were reserved so we had to leave. Beautiful venue though.
