The Green Door

Absolutely exquisite. Staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was unbelievable. Can't wait to go back and try other foods on the menu!

Booked a table for a group of us, Food was absolutely beautiful and they did really well catering for gluten and dairy free and it was in a beautiful setting but unfortunately when it came time to pay they charged an additional $5 per person at our group to make up for the people who didn't arrive (a few group members weren't able to make it last minute and we were unable to notify the cafe any sooner of the change in numbers). At no stage throughout the booking process did they advise of this additional charge and there were plenty of opportunities- when I initially booked, or the day before when I phoned up to confirm our booking or even when we arrived and advised them some group members couldn't make it- they could have advised me then- rather than surprising us after we had finished our meal and went to pay. They need some clear communication and policies around this! but otherwise the meal and the setting was lovely.

My last meal on this trip to Tassie.My second meal at the Green Door.This place never fails..... Ever......The meal was so nice that it would be one of those things you could continue eating even when you can't eat any more, because of the glorious flavour explosion on your taste buds .My recommendation is that you MUST visit, because you WILL be back.

As soon as you walk into the Green Door you feel & are made feel right at home... The staff cannot do enough for you especially if there is a change required in a dish, the presentation of food & wow the salad is amazing, scrumptious coffee, dessert to die for & the character of the Green Door is exceptional... Will definitely be back for more...

Delightful food - I had the Cornish pastie and it was so perfect!! I really enjoyed the side salad as well. So much care and love was put into every element and it showed.

The most personal and best service I've seen. Lunch was uncomplicated and delicious, made with quality fresh local produce and served in amazingly fast time. Also had great coffee and cakes.

We are told that this is a family owned restaurant and all food were made from scratch. Excellent 5 star service by the lady host. Even though we just missed the 2pm lunch time, they were happy to whip up lunch for my wife and I. The fennel fried chicken is a must try. The Irish Boxty is delicious too. The coffee was smooth and goes well with fig and almond torte. Would love to try more food but there is so much my stomach can take in one go.
