Have been coming here a few months fish is usually good, but today just bought a salmon and it was off, mushy, with metallic after taste, very disappointing, hopefully not gonna get sick

My wife Kris buys all our seafood from this store and we have just enjoyed the best dozen oysters of all times, thank you! So fresh, delicious and beautifully shucked. Next we have your expertly sliced tuna and salmon sashimi, your seafood is the best, thank you again from Kris and I.

Buy fish from here when making Seychelles style fish soup. The mackerel grills well. When I have purchased salmon they always offer to scale and skin it at no charge.

Am I wrong in thinking that a piece of skin-on-salmon for one should have been de-scaled...at nearly $40 per kg, who buys piece of fish to eat scales...I would understand if it was whole fish or a whole side of fish, but a small piece, it's disappointing that you have to come home and scale a small piece before cooking it? Will not buy from here again...my last purchase from here was flathead and it was 'stinky' and not fresh...2 strikes, not going to bother again.

Bought marinara mix and unwrapped it at home to find the server had selected purely off-cuts of fish with a lone calamari ring.

I’ve been going here for the past 2 years. They serve fresh and affordable sashimi. I don’t really get the negative reviews below, because for me, I get to eat my favourite food for cheap. If you eat sashimi at a restaurant, you can expect to pay anywhere from 50-100 bucks. Here you can spend around 10-15 bucks for the same portion, and they slice it up for you to eat right away. That’s what I call great service! Thanks guys, I’ll continue to buy from the very friendly team at Fish Pier!!!

I travel up to Richmond each week for work from Rye and my visit always includes a visit to see Igor & his team at the Fish Pier, Vic Gardens, for the best sashimi quality fish, oysters, scallops, flathead tails, swordfish, you name it, it's the freshest here. And they are so helpful, see you next week Igor. Cheers Kris & Ian

Excessively expensive that I would call this place a rip-off. I walked in to inquire on buying a whole salmon which includes parts that are just thrown away, such as head, bond and skin if eating sashimi. The price was the same as buying the fillets separately. I repeated my question and the answer was the same. How buying a big 6kg salmon including uneatable parts be the same as buying just fillets. This place is also empty. No customers showing the fish is not even that fresh.

The review below from JB is wrong. The owners go to the fish market EVERY DAY at 3.00am. Their fish is fresher than any other fishmonger in Melbourne. Their service is excellent and their pricing is competitive as Vic Market. Fish Pier is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Put down a $50 deposit last week for 2kgs of Prawns advertised at $34/kg & returned today to pick them up & had to pay an extra $ 71+ to receive them. That’s $58.99/kg close to crayfish prices. Last shopping day before Christmas so I was stuck.DON’T SHOP HERE!They’ll rip you off & are dishonest about their advertised pricing! They can’t even provide a legible receipt.* Update the prawns weren’t fresh 2-4 days defrosted old & x6 were rotten that even the dog didn’t want really disappointed definitely not fresh seafood.
