The most expensive takeaway fish and chips I've ever eaten. They're now the only option for fish and chips in Maffra now that Maffra Takeaway had closed.The photo of minimum chips, two potato cakes, and two fish cakes cost $15.30. Compared to what Maffra Takeaway used to charge for the same thing and every other fish and chip shop in Gippsland (~$10), the price is ridiculous.It makes matters worse that I have seen them weighing their chips before putting them in the deep fryer. I can't say whether they still do this because they actually answer their phone nowadays and I don't have to awkwardly wait in the store any more after ordering.I would recommend going somewhere else if you have a choice, but if you are craving fish and chips that you don't mind being a bit overcooked sometimes then you've got the right (and only) place.If the owners read this, one thing you can take from this review on how to improve is stop making it obvious that you are ripping off the locals. No one likes that you do it.

You rip your custermers off with a poor amount of chips. $10 chips wasn’t enough to feed two people. Across the street you can get $10 chips to feed 7 people and still have extra. Your $10 equals $5 chips at Maffra take away. Not good enough. Not even worth one star

Minimum chips is woeful I actually saw the guy weighing out the chips on a set of scales. Go across the road for a proper feed not with these rip offs

Pricey. They slice fish only 3mm thick. Quite a rip off. Didn't taste much good either. 3 stars is generous.

The definition of incompetency. Walked in and was told no eftpos, its 2021 but ok. Went to get cash out and came back to one person in front of me who was trying to make a simple order but took 5 minutes. Then asked for a salad roll without beetroot. Told to wait 15 minutes for a roll... anyway 5 minutes later was asked i wanted my salad roll in a roll or bread...? received the roll with beetroot, lots of lettuce and a thing of tomato..thats it. Bread was stale. Overall terrific experience.
