Camel Treks Australia

This is an experience that really needs to be felt not written about.Even though it was only over a few days it has stayed with me for 2 years and continues to have influence on my thoughts, outlook and priorities.A unique experience for everyone that can never be replicated or repeated....just another journey taken which I am booked in to do this September.Karen and Paul, so passionate about what they do, leave you with no doubt that they are in control of a situation that is unfamiliar for most. I was never worried, concerned, hungry or felt anything other than looked out for and after the whole time. The cameleers have also been trained well and by nature, continue to spread this feeling throughout the camp and on on the rides.Mother nature takes care of itself and offers an everchanging palate of colours, lights and darks and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the amazing sense of space this country offers.I will not say it is a' life changing' experience as most peoples lives will return to their version of normal, but it is definitely a 'life enhancing' experience for all who participate. xx

I absolutely loved this experience. A chance to turn off the constant noise of phones emails and social media and just breath. The camels are so special, whether you decide to ride with the slow swaying pace that almost lulls you into a bliss coma or just help groom them and hug them and look into their beautiful big eyes. The whole experience of sleeping under the stars, eating around the campfire and feasting your eyes on the magnificent landscapes is good for the heart soul and mind. I'm going back again this year for my 5th trip to volunteer. Can't recommend highly enough. Its not glamping but its definitely comfortable. Its not a resort but they are a dime a dozen. This is a life experience!!

A trip of a lifetime!!! I had planned to go on a camel safari in Africa for my 40th, but wasn't able to. A few years later I heard about Karen and Paul and my dream came true last year. I would recommend going with Karen and Paul to explore the glories of our country, still nights, starry skies, riding atop a camel and seeing things you can't from ground level...I really hope I can go again!

Wow, what an incredible experience I had on my recent trip last week! Karen, Paul, Ed and Anna were very accommodating and shared a wealth of knowledge regarding the camels and the ancient landscape that we were very privileged to set foot on. The atmosphere was incredible, and we were fortunate to have the opportunity of traversing new lands on this trip. I was also surprised by a lovely birthday gift from the team, and a chocolate cake made in the camp oven. YUM! This trip did not disappoint. The catering was fabulous, and the swags were very warm and comfortable. The camels were all so friendly, and I loved their personalities...such a highlight! Thank you all so much for making this journey a trip of a lifetime that i will cherish for years to come! Rowena

Thank you so much to Karen , Paul and team.This was the most amazing experience.From start to finish the team goes above and beyond to make the trek enjoyable.All meals where absolutely delicious and they cater for all dietary requirements.Sitting around a camp fire under the stars and getting to know others in your group was really lovely.The camels are so beautiful with great personalities.Our trek was definitely one to remember as my partner and I got engaged.Overall we would definitely recommend this trek and would love to one day be back to do it again.

Experience of a lifetime! 3 of our 4 adult kids and their partners came as well as my parents. It was the greatest experience, the scenery was amazing and Karen and her crew made hubbies birthday the most memorable ever xxxxxxx can't wait to return!!

What a great place to be! All staff from Paul and Karen to Ed, Marcus and Anna were always working hard to accomodate us and our needs. The country side was spectacular and the camels were a joy to experience. Even though I like meat, the vegetarian meals were nutritious and energising for the days adventures. Karen leads from the front in expertise and personal experience. This program has a unique feel to it that many people may never get to see and feel. Highly recommend this company!

We travelked as a group of 5 women in 2022. This was a wonderful experience with dedicated and committed people. Karen and her team provided us with a lifetime experience with wonderful camels in an amazing ancient landscape. Couldnt recommend more highly.

Almost a year ago, we joined a 4-day trek which was one of the most memorable experiences we have had. Paul and Karen Ellis and their team of cameleers and camels provide an excellent, professional, well-run experience in the outback. We immensely enjoyed learning about the history and nature and getting close to the camels. The small team worked impressively and incredibly hard throughout the day preparing delicious meals over a campfire, getting guests ready for the ride, setting up and striking down the camp, and taking care of the camels. This is an amazing opportunity to experience a beautiful part of the country in a safe and natural way.

The team at Camel Treks Australia are amazing. This tour rekindled my love of the outback and gave me confidence that exploring Australia solo is not only doable but a rewarding way to enrich your life. I highly recommend this team and their treks and I look forward to my next one.
