Ramada Resort by Wyndham Port Douglas

Had a great experience here. The staff was lovely. The cocktails were great and the massages were sensational.Would definitely go back!The price was very affordable compared to a few places around.We hired a car (would recommended as it’s easier to get around)It’s about 5min out of town

Fantastic time, great food, awesome pool, 4min walk to the beach, and enjoyed the entire layout of the resort. The gym was great for a resort, and I would recommend this place as excellent value for your money.

This is amazing with a large pool, lovely restaurant, kind staff, fun activities, beautiful location and is just an amazing place for a holiday. I went with my whole extended family and they all loved it. I definitely recommend staying here.

This resort is located an hour walk from the town. They need to accommodate the fact that they are isolated and that there’s literally no option at all for food nearby past 8pm. Once the restaurant stops serving food, that’s it. I came back to the resort late after the carnival festivities and I had planned ahead, ordering food from the restaurant before I left so I could heat it up later when I got back. There’s no microwave in the room so I said to myself “lucky I have the friendly staff at the service desk 24hrs”. WRONG. The ladies name was Kim and I had to wait there buzzing her before she came out from the room behind the desk. I have no idea what I interrupted her doing but she was extremely rude to me. I asked her if I could get my food heated up as I’d been drinking all night and needed to eat. She told me she couldn’t do that. I said what are my options then? Everything is closed, there’s nothing nearby… for the amount of money I’m paying to stay here you’re telling me there’s no microwave you can use to help me in this WHOLE RESORT. She then proceeded to laugh at me and tell me the staff could heat it up for me in the morning. SMH. I would understand if there was a reason why given but no, she just apparently couldn’t do it. Microwaves need to be in the rooms or guests need to have access to a microwave when you’re staying somewhere so isolated and there are no options to eat. Very disappointed.

Great place to stay, but the restaurant menu needs to improve, the kids need to be moved away from the swim up bar, there is a shallow end further down the pool. Staff were great rooms were great, place was clean and helpful staff. Loved it

Room was very comfortable, easy to follow instructions. Staff, friendly. Would have loved to go for a swim in the pool, and order a drink at the swim up bar, but it appeared grotty :(

We found it confronting to book into a Ramada Resort and be solicited for “Time Share”, not very happy with that - at all.When we book a resort, we expect rooms to be serviced daily - clean bedding, rooms cleaned and beds made daily. Which was not the case here.We dined once in the restaurant, which was for breakfast. The eggs were not cooked as requested and hard as cardboard, NO freshly squeezed juices! Coffee was ordinary!!The transient staff (backpackers) were lovely; however, there was no obvious regular management that ensured standards were met throughout the resort… actually, we would not call it a resort - it was just a room to stay, in a nice location!!The Ramada by Wyndham in Port Douglas appears run down, the rooms have dirty and scratched furniture - rust on lamps and mould on skirtings. Needs a full refresh.However, the gardens and pool are lovely. The resort/hotel is possibly appealing to families looking for a cheap holiday stay in a nice location.

Had a wonderful time at the Ramada, what a gorgeous tropical oasis for such a great price. The staff were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. My partner and I had a stay of a lifetime and can’t wait to come back to visit!!This does not affect the star rating at all but just wanted to provide some feedback on the pool. It was amazing and my partner and I still swam in it every day despite this but the chlorine was very strong and harsh to my skin, hair and eyes. It has taken about 3 weeks for my hair to get some life back into it!! It’s such a beautiful pool and would love if it was changed to saltwater. Second is if the pillows could be a lot softer and fluffier it would be awesome. That’s all though no biggie.Thank you so much to the staff at Ramada for making this such a special stay.

Rooms are totally fine, just not special and lack of drying facilities for towels is problematic. A balcony would be good too. Key issue is really the service which wasn't great, the staff were quite rude when asking for fresh towels. Bathroom supplies weren't stocked when we arrived, was basically lectured about it not being a serviced apartment until the person stopped long enough to hear the real problem. Restaurant has very little choice and isn't great.
