Very nice and peculiar inn. The bedrooms and common rooms are very warm and cozy. The tea selection available all day is great. The breakfast is ok: more selection of homemade and fresh food would be suggested. Location is not very convenient if you don’t have a car (all the restaurants and the station are 15 minutes uphill).

The rooms were artistically decorated with a historic touch and feel. We enjoyed the SPA so much! The lounges were wonderful places for guests to interact with one another during breakfast and afternoon tea. Thank you very much Ian for your hospitality and even going the extra mile to get something for us from the grocery store. It was a great experience staying in this beautiful house! Highly recommended!!!

It was on Easter holiday and its a last minute rush booking on the phone right on the day for me and my 2 young kids. I found this guest house on the google map. The owner on the phone during the talk never mentioned this house is not suitable for kids and there were no questions like how many people and if there were kids like other hotels normally did during the booking and I was in rush not to mention that. When we check in, immediately I found out the kids can make too much noise for the people downstairs as it's an old timber house, though it's nice, its old and any move can cause the noise. I had to keep telling them not to run not to move to rough. It became a stress. Plus I feel uncomfortable by the look of the male owner at my kids when they run around and how he told them not to do this, not to do that. After only 1 hour, I asked him if we can have part of the refund and find another place because the kids can make too much noise for the people downstair. But instead of taking on any responsibilities, he fully blamed me, he told me 'you need to tell me about the kids, not me asking you'. He was rude and refuse to make any refund at all. Yes, it's part of my mistake but it was also their fault and responsibilities to inform the guest about the house too, its not suitable for young kids. Rather than trying to solve problem with a bit of understanding and compassion, he completely was rude and blame everything on me. Nevertheless, I just don't feel comfortable to cause noise to other guests and also don't want to constantly stop my kids from doing what kids normally do, we left right after that, just after 1.5 hour of checking-in.

We had a lovely time at Kurrara Historical House. Ian was a great host, and provided a delicious spread for breakfast, ranging from cereals, breads, fresh fruits, cheeses and freshly cooked croissants. Ian goes the extra mile by providing all sorts of milks (including dairy free), a selection of over 40 tea varieties (+ coffee machine) as well as biscuits and chocolates available during the day. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully maintained. This includes the surrounding gardens which were a delight and very well tended, giving a homely/cottage vibe. We really enjoyed having afternoon tea in the sun room after our bushwalk, looking out into the garden. We couldn't have asked for more, would highly recommend!

Oldie world guest house. Stayed a week and enjoyed our stay. Try and book the rooms downstairs as they are larger. No downstairs toilets so had to climb the stairs again. Saves gym fees. No place to hang clothes in our room.Staff & Owners were helpful. Breakfast was good but would appreciate some variety if there for a long stay.

Old style Victorian guest house. It was purposefully designed as a guest house. Our room was spacious and we were on the ground floor.

I had the privilege of spending the Easter weekend in a lovely and extremely well-appointed room (Magnolia suite) within this gorgeous guesthouse. The building and decor epitomise rustic, old-world charm and romance in every way. Location was perfect as well, with the Katoomba town centre mere minutes away by foot. Many thanks to Iain for his hospitality, kindness, and dedication to preserving the beauty and heritage of such a unique B&B.

Honourably heartfelt stay at this wonderful guest house. The ambiance transports you back to a sophistication nobility era of class and poise that’s lost and forgotten. Keeping within the era the décor is breathtaking with conversational pieces scattered in a plethora of delight around the house. Each room is tastefully decorated. So peaceful and serenely quiet. The owners go above and beyond with the little things that count. They have thought of everything. Such a romantic period establishment that will linger in memories. So comfortable and quiet in a great location.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The place feels very homely, almost like staying with relatives. The other guests were very respectful so we had no concerns about noise. We loved our room 'Aster' upstairs and found the bed very comfortable. I love Bed and Breakfasts around the Blue Mountains, they feel like they're from a different time - if that's not your style then Kurrara might not be for you but we loved it! I'd say it's mostly designed for couples, rather than families. Also the breakfast was wonderful and I greatly appreciated the gluten free options.

This place is amazing. It's well located. Very close to Leura and Kurrajong. It's a beautiful old house with large comfortable rooms. It's very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a guest house not a hotel but the rooms are much better. The breakfast was really nice with a few nice touches. For example they make their own muesli. If I went to the Blue Mountains again I would definitely stay there again.
